don't u find that is irritating that Superman's close r almost as resistant as he is. just think how cool it would b if Superman's close would actually b able to burn or stuff like that. i wonder what they're made of.

In the latest stories Superman's costume (still designed by Ma Kent in most stories) is not indestructible. The supercharged bioelectric "aura" that contributes to Kal's invulnerability projects several millimeters past the boundary of his skin. Therefore he chooses to wear his famous skin-tight bodysuit because it lies close enough to his skin to be protected.
