I am 2

I am warm
I am cold
A duty
A fault
I am a matter of course
I am often sold dear
When sold
I am good for none
An extraordinary boon
I is
Like not staring
gawking at the moon
But I yield of pleasure
When taken by force.
But I can cause
The end of life
What am I?

There are numerous things it can be, the riddle is too broad and long that it loses focus making many things seem like the answer.
