i say this because peole get on the radio and say why people listen to rap music its so bad 4 children and it makes them stupid things

Even though I love rap music and I am very much grown up (35 years old!), I can tell you why hip hop is seen as 'bad' by many people:
-A lot of rap songs contain lyrics about shooting or spraying people.
-Many rap songs have lyrics that encourage smoking weed.
-A whole lot of rap songs have lyrics about sex.
-Lots of rap videos contain scenes with references to all of the things listed above.
-It is believed that children can't think for themselves - so if a child hears something in a song, or sees something on TV, they might do or say the same things!
The last item on the list is very important for YOU to remember. No matter how much you like any song, video, movie, or celebrity, you have to think for yourself and make your own decisions. Rap artists are not role models for you, and they cannot 'make you' do stupid things.

I personally think its people that strictly relate rap to black people and they have issues around there. Apart from the fact that the most rappers themselves swear too much and tend to talk about things that really dont matter to society and misrepresent the music. I love rap and really warm up to LL, he makes me feel that all women are special and need to be loved like he says in his lyrics. And then there is Tupac. Now how can be rap be bad???!!!!

Because alot (but not all) rap demeans women, and glorifies violence and money. That is not only "bad", it's stupid. Some people might also say that rap perpetuates bad stereotypes about urban people of color.

they don't like it because they never really got into it. Its the parents that make the kids stupid. Lots of kids graduated from college who liked rap music.

To answer your question, rap in itself isnt bad, but a lot of rappers give it a bad name because a lot of rappers talk about negative things like murder, and stuff.

i listen to rap music. but it is stupid. most of it really does not have a positive message. i listen to young jeezy, lil wayne, t.i., and a whole lot of others and all they sing about is cooking up crack, selling drugs, having alot of money, and doing 'hoes'. i mean you get nothing from listening to the music but the beats are good......

most of it just sucks... Its all basically about sex, drugs, violence, and money. These are not things parents want their children exposed to. I think most rappers are talentless idiots who spew profanity and vile things about women. The scary thing is that they're richer than God, which doesn't say much for the future of this country....

Because the lyrics are not approprate for some cultures who never had to go through or experiance what the people who are rappers have gone through

Language/ discrace towards women/ prejudiced remarks. It's not all bad but overall it's worse than other music.
