Neither of them is punk. Simple Plan is power pop, and My Chemical Romance is powerpop/pop-rock. For some real punk, go listen to the Sex Pistols, the Clash, Black Flag, Patti Smith, Siouxsie and the Banshees, the New York Dolls, and the Talking Heads. For a start.

Simple Plan. They are your typical-meddling kids taht have the rock-band in the garage, are punked and like to be unique. Them, SUM41, Blink 182, are all punk bands, My Chemical Romance(MCR), is more your whining-rock. Emoish, but still rock. It screams and whines throughout the songs, and isn't punk at all. Punk songs do more of the yelling, and give out meanings.
But it's just my opinion!

Neither one of them is punk. I'm getting tired of everyone saying that they are. Simple Plan is just a pop band, and MCR is just a crappy emo band. Dead Kennedys, Misfits, Bad Religion, Rancid, Leftover Crack, & The Business are real punk bands. Check them out if you are seriously interested in punk rock. Simple Plan and MCR are not at all punk rock.

Simple Plan is just a bunch of whiners, so I would have to go with My Chemical Romance.

They are both douche punk. They are more like pop. Real punk sounds like the Ramones. They started punk rock.
