Your facial hair comes in stages. give it time. At 17 I could only grow a scragly, sparse beard and no mustache. By 20 I had a full beard and mustache. By 23 I had to shave twice a day. I have had a beard and mustache ever since (28 years)

I'm not gonna treat you like a kid about this. I don't know what being gay (or not) has to do with it, but okay... Here goes:

Every guy's facial hair grows and fills-in differently than other guys. Some guys have small, almost unnoticeable bald patches while other guys' hormones kick-in during 8th grade and they grow their first moustache in no time flat.

There are quite a few things to keep in mind: genetics, hormones, circulation, and the health of hair follicles all play a role in your body and facial hair growth.

Also remember that you've only been shaving for a handful of years by now, and as you continue, your hair WILL get thicker, but it's not an overnight process. When your hair growth becomes thicker it becomes denser, too. It shows off when that happens.

For now, unless you're intent on keeping your current growth, I'd just completely shave my mugg clean. It won't be long when you notice that your 5 o'clock shadow starts to look like a 6 o'clock shadow. Then try to grow it.

Oh, one last thing, too... Your hair color has a lot to do with the perception of facial hair. Guys who have darker hair seem to visibly have more facial hair (it really stands out!). Compare that with guys who have blond hair who seem to have less visible hair.

Don't let all this bug you too much, especially if your buds are already sportin' 'staches, fu-man-chus, goats, whatever. You never know if you might have more chest hair, or other, bigger and better hormonal growths. LOL.

Take care, dude.

Im 21 and i don't grow anything right below my lips.....I think that it just takes awhile for your hormones to start making you grow hair everywhere.
