Baby still has time to turn into position. I have also heard of the putting your feet up to help the baby into position. The "dropping" you mention will happen. It may not happen befor going into labor however. If it does, you'll notice. In one day, you'll go from not being able to breath (because the baby is up in your lungs still) to having to run to the potty ever 30 minutes due to the pressure on your bladder. Good news is, IF you notice the drop, you are most likely into your last week!! :-) And the position the baby is in will have no effect on IF your labor starts naturally, but like someone already mentioned, the baby has to turn to be born.

My baby was sideways on my first pregnancy too. It is called a transverse lie. The baby cannot be born in that position. My doctor had me do what is called a breech tilt. He had me lie on my back twice a day for 20 minutes at a time with my feet higher than my head. The baby would wiggle and squirm when I did it, but it caused her to turn head down.

It all depends on the baby.
My first one was head down until 36 weeks then he flipped himself to the feet down position and never turned back around. I feel it when he flipped but he was almost 10 lbs. My dr tried to push him around but after 20 min. of pushing, he had not even moved an inch. I had to have a c-section. It was not that bad really, but I'll be tring a VABC this time around.
My second child was lying sideways until i was 37 weeks. I did not feel when she fliped but I woke up one morning with pelvic pain so bad I counldn't walk, I went to the dr and she had fliped. I dont know what made her flip but everyone I talk to agrees that it was the 5 hours I was on my knees waxing my kitchen floor that helped her out. well good luck.

My child was difficult too. She didn't want to completely turn. I was in labor and the doctor had to reach inside of me and try to turn her. He tried several times to flip her but she kept going back. In the end she was partially turned but I still delievered normally.
