Unfortuentally we are the ones that are causing the global warming and that would mean that WE are the ones that are killing the polar bears. I believe we need to cut back on the amount of gas we use, which is poluting the air; thus, causing the global warming problem. I once saw on the news that a farmer had found a new for of gas to use in cars. It was as simple as some corn oil mixed w/ something else. My point is, it was a way to power our cars....and didnt effect the "Global Warming" issue. It was a safe way to power cars, and after yrs....it could of even helped the polar bears be able to still live in their habitat. The problem is...getting us people to use the new product. No effence but if people arent trying to make the world better by using these simple products....then they arent too worried about the polar bears.

Here is something to think about don't believe me check this stuff out...
1.Water(H2O) is the only element known to man to expand when it freezes every other element contracts when it freezes so that is the first fact. For example fill a milk jugg with water, now stick it in the freezer... come back later and it will have exploded from preassure of freezing water.
2.Icebergs are massive chunks of ice, only a few percent of the ice is above water, which means the rest of the ice is underwater.
3.The ice underwater because water expands when it freezes is displacing the liquid water. So when that iceberg melts all the ice under the water will contract and fill a smaller space, so the level of the water will be less now because the ice which was displacing the liquid water is unfrozen and now occupies a less amount of space.
4.Scientific models show that if all the ice on this planet melted we would see a 3" DROP in ocean levels NOT a rise but a DROP.
Now isn't that interesting.
Now for the greenhouse gasses.
1.Plants LOVE a carbon dioxide rich air supply.
2.The more carbon dioxide their is the faster they grow.
3.Plants use photosynthesis to get their food so they can grow.
4.When the plants sense a higher level of carbon dioxide they will make up for it by sucking up more and more and one of the products of photosynthesis is OXYGEN!!
5.So no matter how much CARBON DIOXIDE there is the plants will COMPENSATE and suck up more and grow faster and bigger. and the bigger the plant is the more OXYGEN it produces through photosynthesis

The answer is clear. Since Polar Bears stalk and kill humans for food, and since North Korea is both very cold and has far too more people than it's land can support, we can kill two birds with one stone. By shipping the bears who have lost their habitat on the polar ice cap to North Korea, we can give the Polar Bears a new home while simultaneously combating the North Korean famine. It's all about population control. Besides, North Korea clearly needs something better to do with all their missiles rather than just shoot them into the sea, so why not let them hunt bears with them? Then they can eat exploded pieces of polar bear and cut down on starvation even more. Also, shipping the polar bears from the Artic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska over to North Korea will let us drill for more oil.

Good question and bad question.
The good part is that's nice to be conceirned about a species on this planet. The bad part that the most threatening thing to the polar bear on this moment is not global warming but pesticides and toxic chemicals. More and more polar bears are born hermaphrodit or infertile due to this.
The best thing humans can do is keep paying attention to how lifeforms respond to changes made to their environment and make it a lesson for themselves. And that's what you're just trying to do.
Great!
PS: Small joke (the Greek Oracle went for a beer): Do you know that a fart of a Polar Bear contains chemicals actually causing a breakdown of the ozon-layer (this is technically true) contributing to global warming? But trust me, removing their anusses is not going to solve the problem. :-) Moral: Take care, but don't forget to have fun!

Since the bears come in every summer from the pack ice to the main land, they will probably adapt by hunting the onshore animals. It would also do us good to remember what else relies in the ice. Like say the seals that the bears eat. With no ice it would be good to assume that they are going to be beaching along the coasts. An extremely easy target for the bears. And if that doesn’t work they can always eat the people encroaching on their land

I think the best thing to do is go straight to the government and demand that the earth is our last resource and it is withering away. how can someone say there is no such thing as global warming when the earth is off axis and is millions of miles closer to the sun that it was just a millenium ago. yes, with power even normal people can bring awareness and start engineering solutions to a not only better polar bear population but earth's life.

Will it's going to be a hard sell but to tell people to give up their cars, is one way to deal with the global warming crises. As for myself I don't drive I take the bus where ever I go. Maybe these smart cars or other forms of hybrid cars will help ease the future global warming problems but people don't want to give up their vechiles. In many cities and towns buses are non exist ants. Lots of people don't live close enough to stores or to malls to walk to them nor would they want to walk to them if they have a car. I don't know what the solution is but as long as there is oil and gas reserves to be sucked out of the earth a lot of animals are in danger of dying out unfortunately and when the last wild animal out and we have something happen like ocean water rising and covering a lot of the earth surfaces or when we end up with deserts where wheat fields use to be then maybe we will listen than to the effects of global warming.

right now the bigger threat to polar bears is overfishing. polar bears ususally like to eat seals, and the seals happen to like pollock. pollock happens to be the primary meat for most processed fish here, and the asian nations use it for surimi. the pollock population is ample amount now but it is declining. unless we take the steps to insure that the population of pollock is sufficent to feed both the other marine life and humans we may have a bigger problem on our hands. global warming is a slow process and we do have time to make change, but to be truly effective we need to be able to control both. the biggest step you can do now is to, personally reduce how much you consume of the natural resources. the government cant stop this on it's own.

Hi! We need to treat the problem not the symptom. We (that means everyone because everyone has a part) need to prevent further deterioration of the atmosphere/ozone. This is a complex problem but not impossible to solve. The biggest problem is the lack in participation for uniting as one planet. If everyone can come together, unite and do their part, we can change almost reverse the damage in time.

Sorry to sound like the ultimate pessimist, but when the world starts to go to hell in a hand basket, there won't be too many people concerned with saving polar bears or anything or one else, beside themselves.
So, until we do something about global warming, we're just going to have to sit back and watch the slow deterioration of species - plants, animals, organisms and eventually people.
Pity we are too blind to see and too selfish to care.
