Dave Winfield came to mind when I saw that question... and that is the correct answer:

"(Winfield) was drafted by the San Diego Padres, the Minnesota Vikings despite not playing college football, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Utah Stars of the ABA. He is one of only two men ever drafted in three different pro sports."

Winfield was drafted by the Vikings, even though he never played college football.

I'm not sure who the other guy was that was drafted in three different sports, but if he came up much after Winfield, the ABA would no longer have been around... The ABA folded after the 1975-76 season.

On a side note, Winfield was born on the same day New York Giant outfielder Bobby Thomson hit the "Shot Heard 'Round the World" off Brooklyn Dodger pitcher Ralph Branca...October 3, 1951.

Dave Winfield

"After hitting and pitching the Gophers to the College World Series in 1973, he was drafted by the San Diego Padres, the Minnesota Vikings despite not playing college football, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Utah Stars of the ABA. He is one of only two men ever drafted in three different pro sports, and the only man to be drafted by four leagues."

This is all from memory, I could not find proof....Dave Logan a WR for the Cleveland Browns was also drafted by the NBA & MLB...It seems like he was drafted in the first round by all three...

I hope this will jog someone's memory and they will know more details....
