How do I know If I have an ear infection. The last time I went to the doctors for the opposite ear they told me it was just inflamed and it had one of those little pimples in there. How do I know if the other one isnt doing the same thing?

The symptoms I have are:
Severe pain starting from the neck to deep inside the inner ear.
Swelling of the ear canal
Pussing
bleeding
headaches
peeling of the top layer of skin from inner as well as outer ear
earring hole pussing and very painful
No cold or sickness, no fever
dizziness
very very slight hearing loss

This one is a lot worse than what happened in my other ear. How do I know for sure WITHOUT going to a doctor.

This has been going on for about 2 weeks. Only the pain has subsided so far.

Something is obviously wrong; and you need to see an Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat specialist) ASAP.

You list so many symptoms that it sounds like you might have several conditions going on simultaneously -- and yet you say the hearing loss is minimal, which is surprising. Honestly, it doesn't make sense to me. A detailed history and physical examination is the only way to properly diagnose your condition(s).

You say your ear was "bothering" you. Was it simply reduced hearing or a feeling of fullness? Wax buildup can certainly reduce your hearing especially if the wax plug becomes lodged against your eardrum. Cerumenex is a product that is supposed to help with wax buildup but I have seen some wicked reactions to it and would not personally use it. Consult your Dr. to ensure it is not an infection. If it is a wax plug the doc can gently flush it out or use a loop to remove the plug. LOL.

Sounds like something is definatley going on. I can't tell from here, neither am I a physician.
Wtihout going to a Dr you won't know for sure. Sounds like the other Dr had other things on his mind than you.

1.) Go back and tell this Dr in so many words what is going on and refuse to leave the room unitl he/she does
2.) find another Dr.

You could also go to the ER. I think that would be best in your position. You have more than just pain.

Get thee to a Dr NOW!

I would go back to the doctor, but I would go to an ear doctor not a m.d. doctor. a nose, throat and ear doctor
