One of my all time favorites ''Vikram & the Vampire"or ''Tales of Hindu Devilry'', I like the way they used to give books two titles years ago. The author is Sir Richard Burton. This book is worth any effort it takes to get.it.

My favorite vampire book is Twilight, by Stephenie Meyer. It just came out about a year and a half ago, and there's more information on it on the author's website, stepheniemeyer.com.
I also enjoy the Cirque Du Freak books by Darren Shan. I haven't read any vampire books that I didn't like, yet, but I prefer good writing over a good story. If I find a vampire book that sounds interesting, I'll read it, and I was ten when I read my first vampire novel.

My favorites are anything by Laurell K. Hamilton. I was in my late teens/early 20s when I started reading her. I reread and read anything that comes out. (I'm still in my 20s but onyl for one more year)

I also like Shannon Drake and Anne Rice. I got turned onto vampire books in my teens with a series called "the vampire diaries" by L.J. Smith. (includes The Awakening, the Struggle, The Fury and Dark Reunion)

I can't remember not liking any vampire books although I was disappointed with the ending of The Historian.

Ameila Atwater Rhodes
I have only read just a few of her books, but they are very good. She was 16 when she wrote her first. Some titles are: Shattered Mirror, In the Forest of the Night. Sorry I can't remember any others, they belonged to a friend of mine.
The Anne Rice ones don't hold my attention enough for me to finish, and although the movie was nothing like the book, Queen of the Damned was good.

I also like to write, and vampires do appear in my stories every now and then. But I focus more in the Dungeon and Dragon catagory(if you must catagorize me), with a touch of Piers Anthony weirdness, and a dash of Francessa Lia Block description.
If you have ever read from these authors you know what i mean.

I've read all of the vampire books from Anne Rice. They are awesome! I read the first one, "Interview with a Vampire" shortly after the movie came out. I then picked up "The Vampire Lestat" and I fell in love with the whole series!

The entire series of Lastat by Ann Rice.

I was in my late twenties when I started the series, then I became hooked on everything she wrote.

I have read her entire series.

I'm in my late 40's.

There is no such thing as an unlikeable vampire. I think there is a sexiness to vampires that women are truly attracted to. Just the sensation of someone giving you a hickey, if they don't get carried away is sensual, all you're adding to that is a puncture and the removal of some blood. But if the feeling took your mind off of the blood theft, it could be quite sexy and you could do nothing. Not to mention the sexiness of power, the ability to shape shift, mind control, fly, immortality. Hey some women get off on political power, vampires have politicians beat by a long mile.

bram stoker's "dracula" is my second love. the first is a series entitled "the little vampire", or "Der kleine Vampir" in its original language, by angela sommer-bodenburg (you can go to http://www.angelasommer-bodenburg.com for more info about her). i started reading them when i was 8 or 9 and they are the reason for my fascination towards dark tales.

i also love anne rice's "interview with the vampire" but when a book or a writer becomes immensely known and the talk of almost every book lover (and i feel like i've already known what they have to offer even before i read them), i tend to go in a different direction.

my encounters with sheridan le fanu's 'carmilla' in "in a glass darkly" and angela carter's 'the lady of the house of love' in "the bloody chamber" were delightful occassions.

in the non-fiction department, i'd recommend ken gelder's "reading the vampire".

oh, i'm in my late 20's.

My absolute favorite series are the southern vampire books by Charlaine Harris. I also love the Anita Blake's, including the fact that they've gone totally porno. Other authors who are worth investigating include Lynsey Sands (humor/romance), MaryJanice Davidson (blonde humor/romance), Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong (more werewolf than vampire, but probably my second favorite series in the paranormal genre).

I started reading vampire books after watching Buffy.I'm 25 now.I'll name the books that I really like, first.

Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. The books provide an alternate take on vampires.People who are unjustly murdered call upon Artemis(Greek goddess) and she grants them a day to avenge themselves. After that they are recruited to her army to fight against evil. This series is romance based.Best of the series are 'Dance with the devil' and 'Seize the night'.

Dresden file book series by Jim Butcher. There are 8 books in the series beginning with stormfront. It narrates the story of Harry Dresden, chicago's only professional wizard who works as a detective. He stands between the general population who is ignorant about the supernatural world and the monsters - vampires, werewolves, fallen angels, fey. He is aided by Bob,a talking skull.Karrin Murphy-a police officer and Thomas-a white court vampire.

For a really funny vampire romance books read Argeneau book series by Lynsay Sands. The first one of the lot is 'Single white vampire'.Recluse vampire and novelist Lucern Argeneau finds his lair being invaded by his determined editor Kate.He has to hide the fact that he is a vampire from Kate, partake his daily blood quota and manage his family. His interfering all-vampire family doesn’t make things easier.Infact his mom thinks that Kate is perfectly suitable for him.

Prime vampire novels by Susan Sizemore is interesting. The best of the lot is the 4th book 'Master of Darkness.' Reluctant vampire hunter Eden Faveau thinks Laurent is her new partner in an investigation to take down a local vampire drug ring. Laurent is really a renegade vampire from the Tribe Manticore and he is in the right place at the right time to take advantage of Eden. He needs her computer expertise to hack a laptop that he stole from the Tribe leader, Justinian.

Books by Kerrylyn Sparks,Christine Feehan are O.K.Totally hate books by Laurell K.Hamilton,Kathryn Smith.
