I worked on a cruise ship for nearly 5 years. It was very hard work but I had a really good time. You have to be very persistant. When you send your cv in to company's a lot just get thrown away without being looked at. I worked on the QE2 as a bartender. And a lot of staff who came from other ships said the QE2 was the friendliest. The ships very old and the facilities for crew are pretty bad or non-exsistent. But talking to other crew about other ships I'm glad i worked on QE2. I can give you the address for cunard and the name of the personnel manger (she's really nice). Send in your cv direct and if you don't hear anything just keep on trying there's no harm in that. Don't take it personnly if you don't get a job striaght away there is a lot of competition. And you may not hear anything for weeks then all of a sudden they want you to go sea in 2 days time! Here's the address if you need to know anymore just ask!

Be prepared to be away for months on end. And also be ready to work very long hours.
For example, don't think that just because you wait tables (as an example), you just work during meal times. Well, on a ship, meal time is 24 hours a day.
Don't think that if you clean rooms, you'll only work 8 hours a day. There's hundreds and hundreds of rooms you'll have to clean. And even when you're not cleaning rooms, they'll have to doing something else.
There aren't a huge amount of staff. With the limited amount of staff they can carry on the ship, staff is required to conduct several duty responsibilities.
It's a long, hard job.

You can probably just visit the websites of Cruise Ships. Other then that the jobs are kinda hard, just b/c you do everything from cleaning, to being a waiter/waitress, entertainer, greeter. They are all pretty fun jobs you just have to learn to multitask, and be a Jack- of- All traits.

you could e-mail a cruise ship company or get a contact number off of their website. I'm not sure if you will need any qualifications, but I am pretty sure they will give you all the required training.
