Here are two songs I've heard people say they want at their funeral (not entirely positive about the titles):

1) Don't Forget to Remember Me
2) Spirit in the Sky

Note: NOT Stairway to Heaven (It's a Satan worshiping song)

Actually written for a funeral of the singers friend.

Vince gill, GO rest high on that mountain, another wonderful song written in response to the death of two friends

i would recommend "amazing grace". i know its old and maybe just boring or anything, buts its one of those classics that always fit. In the `90 that Whitney Houston song "i will always love u" was a very "hip" tune for funerals, or take "knocking on heavens door", the guns n roses version or the original one. all others kinda suck i think, best wishes, i hope its not for your own funeral , bye

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again (from Phantom of the Opera - but not too musical-y, its very good)
Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (U2)
Hear You Me (Jimmy Eat World)
Bye Bye Baby Bye Bye (Bay City Rollers) - depending on mood
Angels Among Us (Alabama)
My Immortal (Evanessence)
Both Sides Now (Joni Mitchel)
Here With Me (Dido)
May It Be (Enya)
Frail (Jars of Clay)
Think of Me (from Phantom of the Opera - if there's a serious musical connection)
Songbird (Eva Cassidy)
Be Thou My Vision (hymn)
Amazing Grace (hymn)
Eternal Father Strong to Save (hymn)
Breath of Heaven (Amy Grant)
Til The Season Comes Round Again &/or Go Rest High on that Mountain (Vince Gill) - more a holidayish one

These are some from past experience - I hope all goes as well as possible.

One Fine Day.. its by Mariah Carey and Boyz 2 Men.. even if u dont like either of those 2, u'll love this song... it makes me cry all the time and its just the sweetest song ever... i always wish i would've played it at my grandfather's funeral.. if u want the lyrics, here they r-

Sorry I never told you
All I wanted to say
And now it's too late to hold you
'Cause you've flown away
So far away

Never had I imagined
Living without your smile
Feeling and knowing you hear me
It keeps me alive
Alive

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
Together
One sweet day
Eventually I'll see you in heaven

Darling, I never showed you
Assumed you'd always be there
I took your presence for granted
But I always cared
And I miss the love we shared

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day
Eventually I'll see you in heaven
Although the sun will never shine the same
I'll always look to a brighter day
Lord I know when I lay me down to sleep
You will always listen as I pray

And I know you're shining down on me from heaven
Like so many friends we've lost along the way
And I know eventually we'll be together
One sweet day

in the version of the song i have, the beginning (b4 what it says now) goes like this-

I won't be afriad
I'll be alright if you help me
I know you're looking down from Heaven
And i won't let you down
I'll be everything you taught me
And all that I know is that I'll wait patiently to see you in Heaven

yea.. i love this song..totally perfect for a loved one that has passed.. im sorry for your loss too doll..
hugs :-)
