This question exemplifies the ignorance of the questioner. Hispanic culture is by far the most elevated of cultures in the way on which men treat their women for instance a common saying goes 'a una mujer no la tocas ni con el petalo de una rosa' translation 'a lady is not to be touched, not even with the petals of a rose'. As you can see the attitude of which you speak of clearly does not represent the essence of Hispanic or Latin culture.

The term Hispanic is all encompassing not discriminating, and so, if you are born in a nation were Spanish is the dominant language regardless of your ancestry you become a Hispanic person.

Now, it is true that many people that are known as Hispanic have an attitude that is non-tolerant and demeaning towards women, however, this trait is not part of Hispanic culture. If you take one minute to analyze whom these people are you will notice that they have Native American ancestry as supposed to Spaniard. The attitude you speak of is common among Native Americans in the Latin American nations, that however does not make it a 'Hispanic' trait.

I really think you are making a mistake, not all Hispanic males are raised to be "macho idiots." How do I know that? Because I am a Hispanic male, and I was not raised that way. Besides, you are a generalizing. What if I would say that all blond hair American women are dumb! That would not be fair, because not all blond hair American women are dumb. I know many men from different nationalities, including Americans, that are "macho idiots." You cannot judge a whole race for a bad experience you had.

I really don't know why, but usually Mexican men are the most "machista" but all hispanics have their level, americans are usually the least and they say Middleeastern men are even worse then Mexicans, if you can imagine that. It's all in the raising of a child, if the mother is never allowed to do anything and they always appraoch there home with their head down thats what the sons think is correct in the world. As a Latina and speaking from experience being rasied in a Latin family and marrying a Mexican guy --- they are raised to believe they are demi-gods who are always right, all mighty and have an e-ticket to do what they want, when then want any WAY they want.

But in the end -- the majority have little education, no job, end up back with Momma and own only a boom-box ....

Well there is a misconception for this. Actually any person from any country can be an idiot, it all depends on what education and background you actually have.

Hispanics have a big reputation for this because the 70% of the population is poor in almost every latin american country...So I believe it is pretty obvious.

I'm not going to disagree with you on that one but they are not being raised like that they are raised to be the provider of the house but some think that if the provider they rule I had 3 aunts that were abused by their husbands and they were cheated on. But luckly my mother is a strong women and never permitted my dad to disrespect her like that so I am like her too plus my dad was very respectful to her and that is what I am looking for like I said there is a litlle bit of everything in every culture

Many hispanic mothers start to completely defer to their sons when they enter puberty so the mother and any sisters in the family wait on the father and her sons.
