I have a full uk car licence for 2 years and am 22yrs old, looking to do the full catagory bike test but it looks like i need to do a theory test again but this time for motorcycles. Is this true?

Quote from source:
"UK licence holders
You will need to take a theory test if you want a licence for a new category of vehicle, for example, if you have a car licence and you want a motorcycle licence you will need to take a theory test.

If, however, you want to upgrade within a vehicle category you will not normally need to take a theory test, for example, if you have a full automatic car licence and you want a manual car licence you will not have to take a theory test.

Please check with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) or the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) if you are unsure if you should take a theory test."

Yes it is. You have to do a theory test for every class of vehicle you need to take a driving test for. I had to do a theory for my PSV (bus) and another for my motorcycle. Rip off springs to mind.

Anyway good luck.

nicely, definite, what you do is take the bike protection beginning Rider protection route. they provides you with the using try as part of this route. then you take this documentation that you've had the route and bypass to the drivers license facility and merely take the written part of the try. it really is diverse for motorcycles. you could seem up the MSF Rider route on line to detect a classification on your section. it really is the way it truly works in Texas besides. Your state will be diverse yet contact MSF first and they are going to inform you.

I don't know about UK, but in California you only have to take the drive test.
