I live in the southern USA and am considering putting gutters onto the existing roof of our house. I don't know why there are no gutters on the roof now (houses nearby with the same floor plan have them), a previous owner must not have wanted to pay for them when the roof was repaired. Whatever the reason, it was a terrible decision, you cannot get into the house when it is raining without getting very wet. It is a two story house with a very simple roof line (no corners or bends). What is the typical cost to install a 30' gutter?

A lot of companies with have a minimum charge of $250...Depends if you are putting it up yourself...1 story or 2 story will decide the footage of the downspout...30 of gutter with 2 end caps and 1 outlet is 33' of materials the either 13' 1 story or 23' 2 story of downspout materials. I would'nt pay more thean $150 installed

Good luck

When I bought my home, the builder did not put gutters on the house saying, "It never rains in Southern California"! So I had them installed and am glad I did. All of my other neighbors have problems when it rains. I have a two story house, 3 car attached garage, 2800 square feet and paid $4200 for the gutter, installation, animal guards and extensions. They have a lifetime warranty and I have two colors, one to match the trim and on the downspouts to match the color of the body of the house. I'm glad I have the warranty because we get Santa Ana winds through this canyon in excess of 75 mph.
