Okay, abortion is murder, should be outlawed, anyone who has one is going to hell. I get your message loud and clear and I'm not saying I necessarily disagree with you, but why are Pro-Lifers against birth control and sex education? You keep insisting we only teach abstinance in school. Um, maybe if we taught sex education and different forms of birth control there would be fewer abortions, fewer people on welfare, fewer people living in poverty, fewer STDs, and fewer people dying from AIDS. The government should provide FREE birth control to everyone!

PS--I worked for a Senator and we got letters daily from Pro Lifers saying we should stop funding AIDS programs in Africa because they were not just teaching Abstinance, but they were teaching about birth control. This is how I know there are people like this out there.

Baby, I agree with you 200%! Unfortunately, you have folks in government that would rather give a man Viagra for free instead of a young woman birth control. Plenty of folks who are pro life can't even grasp the concept of people who don't think, act, and speak like they do. Abstinence is a good thing, but let's be real. Sex education should be taught BETTER(some of the curriculum stresses abstinence ONLY!), and more parents need to get involved in the lives of their kids. I tell my younguns to come and talk with me about matters of the heart, mind, and body. I encourage all parents, teachers, clergy, and even government officials to get real and let's teach our young people about all aspects of reproduction, protection from STDs, and help them to get the CORRECT information. FEAR and GUILT are not methods of birth control. Education is.

I'm pro-life, but also pro-birth control. My personal belief is that sex belongs in marraige with one person for the rest of your life. I think that it would be better for every person to live this way, and I can understand why other people who believe the way I do would want to teach only abstinence, because they think it would be better for everyone. However, I am not naive enough to think that just because abstinence is what is taught in school, no person will have sex before marraige. I realize that much of our culture today doesn't buy waiting. So, I support teaching birth control in school, along with the risks that premarital sex brings. Most birth control is not actually killing anything, but stopping fertilization from occuring. So if you're gonna have sex, by all means, use protection

Personally, I believe in the woman's right to choose, because every case is different. I consider life to be a precious gift that should not be wasted, but also a delicate gift that must be placed in responsible hands.
On the matter of birth control... I just started on BC recently to regulate my period. Six and a half years of not knowing when to expect my period, because it's completely irregular have been damn near hellish, and birth control helps to balance me out, and lets me be prepared for my period. The fact that I don't have to worry about getting pregnant with the baby that I'm not ready (physically, mentally, emotionally, or financially) to have is a plus.
One of my close friends suffers from painful ovarian cysts and severe monthly cramps. Birth control keeps the cysts under control, and makes the pains of her monthly cycle bearable again.
For some people, birth control is a necessity, and -not- in the prevention of conception.

Ignorance keeps the masses under control. Much like sheep. It's been proven time and time again that CLEAR and TRUE sex education in and of itself helps the teen pregnancy/unplanned pregnancy rates (look at Sweden's rates vs. the United States). Pro-Lifers cant even get the facts of life right. How can we expect them to get STDs right, much less anything else?

Liberalism is a mental disorder. The gov't shouldn't provide birth control, as they can't shove the pill down a woman's throat nor can they stick a condom on a penis. Liberals would probably think the condom was a happy-birthday balloon that needed to be aired up.
Ways of liberals:
16. Your political theories sound exactly the same whether you're drunk or sober.
15. You're qualified to judge GWB the worst president in history even though the only other two presidents you can name are "Bill Clinton" and "Abraham Washington."
14. It makes perfect sense to you when you demand a conservative speaker be silenced because you consider him "intolerant."
13. You can openly regard blacks as helpless children unable to care for themselves and it's not considered racism.
12. Personal hygiene - Who needs it?
11. You can keep fantasizing that the Jeff Gannon non-story will finally gain some traction even though everyone with any brains gave up on it in March.
10. You can second guess conservative leaders for hours without having to worry about anyone second guessing liberal leaders. After all, nobody can second guess what doesn't exist.
9. It's easy to make time to go to anti-war protests when you rely on a welfare check instead of a paycheck.
8. When you post idiotic opinion, unsupported conjecture, or paranoid delusions on Yahoo, you just have to type "FACT!!!" at the end and your post magically becomes true.
7. You see no contradiction in hating Bill Gates who became a billionaire by selling a product that people want, and admiring George Soros who became a billionaire by weakening national economies and driving others into poverty.
6. You know deep in your heart of hearts that if the cat gets stuck in a tree, it really *is* the President's responsibility to get it out.
5. In the debate of religion vs. science, you can swear you have complete faith in science even though you never made better than a C- in elementary school science and couldn't even give the boiling point of water if your life depended on it.
4. Your most difficult philosophical question regards exactly what is meant by the word "is."
3. If your wife presents a threat to your lifestyle, you can openly cheat on her and none of your friends will be mad at you, provided you're President of the United States.
2. If a pregnancy presents a threat to your lifestyle, you can flush it and none of your friends will be mad at you.
1. If a girlfriend presents a threat to your lifestyle, you can drown her and none of your friends will be mad at you.

I am not against birth control- in fact I insist that anyone who doesn't want to have a child use extreme caution to prevent a pregnancy. Using birth control does not kill an innocent baby like abortion. In my town there is free birth control in many places.

The Rapture Right is wierd like that. The Christian thing to do is not have sex until you are married. In order to ensure that their children grow up good and godly, they teach them abstinance and nothing else. This, however, has backfired tremendously and continues to do so today, without any change from the Religious Right.

This is a null question. Kinda of like dividing zero into itself, there is no real outcome. Why? Because you don’t know that “pro-life people are against birth control”! Have you asked every single pro-life person this question? No, it’s an impossible task to even identify every pro-life person.
So you are dividing 0/0, which can’t be done.

Birth Control = A way of killing of the creation of a child.
So basicly you're killing the baby before it's a baby in the sense of the word.
And not all forms of Birth Control stop child birth, and you can still get illnesses even practicing safe sex, it only reduces the risk.
Many people have more children so they can have more welfare, your check is higher depending on your amount of children.

It should be everyone's goal to decrease the number of abortions in this country. 25% of American pregancies end in abortion. That is because 50% of pregancies are unplanned. Sex education and birth control are essential to decreasing the number of abortions.
Want to make abortion illegal? Look at Brazil. Abortion is illegal and 50% of pregancies end in abortion. Look at the Netherlands. They have the most liberal abortion laws in the world and their abortion rate is 10%, way lower than the U.S. Contraception and education, not prohibition of abortion, is the answer.
The term pro-life is a misnomer. Those who support making abortion illegal are much more likely to support wars of aggression and the death penalty and much less likely to support programs for health care and humitarian assistance. (once you're born no one cares about you - look at New Orleans)

Every idiot who gets together and decides to have sex does not deserve to have a baby. Think of all the prostitutes, teenagers, drug addicts and anyone not in a committed relationship that are having quickies and f*#$ing and a baby is being created! Birth control and sex education are a must. It is too many irresponsible people having babies and either abusing them or giving them away for someone else to take care of...
