Tell me if you know for sure, or if you just suspect. I have a few suspicions but can't prove them.
The only one I know for sure was that, when I saw KISS share the bill with Aerosmith a couple of years ago, Peter Criss definitely sang "Beth" to a prerecorded music track but I think that one's always been common knowledge.
I hate the very idea but I'd like to know to what extent, if at all, it's actually being done. Thanks!

I would be primarily referring to any act who might be using any form of recorded
instrumentation or lead vocals on tour.
(Sound effects and such wouldn't count.)

Ya know, I've been to a few hundred concerts in my life (with the first being the Beau Brummels, and the last was the Eagles on their "Hell Freezes Over" tour), and there was only one show I saw, where I knew prerecorded music was being used. Of all people, it was Elton John doing "Funeral For A Friend / Love Lies Bleeding". They made it pretty obvious they weren't playing it, since they were walking around the stage setting up for the "live" portion. The thing is, even thought the intro to this combo song takes more instrumentation then they had on stage, I've seen plenty of times when other bands perform with less, and still pull it off.
