Well, I beleive people don't care about Global Warming because they don't really feel such an effect on them. They just get on with their day. I am not trying to single out anyone. Even to tell you the truth global warming does not really bother me. When I get up in the morning I don't really think oh no, the world is coming to an end! I'm breathing in pollution!! Ahhhhhh. Until there are many major global warming effects on the world then people will notice and care. But, there are scientists still researching all of that stuff and trying to stop it to you know...

1. People Don't Know
2. People Don't Believe (different than disagree)
3. People are Skeptical

5. People Don't like complicated science data, theories, ideas, especially they're negative.
6. People Don't want to Sacrifice
7. People Don't want to slow down Economic Growth/ spending (this include businesses, politians, and everyday citizens).
8. People Don't want to Decrease their Living Standard/ Style
9. People Don't think the effects will affect them as much as scientists predicted
10. People Are Short-sighted

Bonus: America is simply too great and too good and too large to give our cars. With many low-density development and spread out cities across America, its very hard to give up our reliance on automobiles. Also, with the enormous pressure and political contribution from non-renewable energy, automobile, and lumber Industries, its hard for the government and politicians to make a fair and environmental-friendly judgment or decision.

People care, the problem is what to do.

Increase gas mileage on cars then poorer folks cant afford to own a car.
Meanwhile China is polluting more than anyone but Kyoto doesn't apply to them? What about Brazil Burning Amazon Forest to make farmland. Not included in Kyoto

We don't even know if we are causing the warming. We were causing the hole in the Ozone now it is closing. We were polluting a lot more when everyone was using coal to heat their homes.

Now I use less fuel to heat my house since it is warmer. I don't drive that much to begin with.

Well to begin with, there isn't much we can do. For many of us, a car is the best, or only way to get around. Yes, we can take a bus, and try walking, but sometimes that's not an option. Not all of us can simply buy a Hybrid just like that. It's not that people don't care, but cars, and mainly transportation has become a big part of our lives.

Hydrogen gas stations, would mean having to start ALL over again. (Taking down gas pumps, stations, etc.). Might not sound like much, but imagine if we took ALL that away, and had to rebuild it ALL again.

I am not quite sure why people do not care about Global Warming I just think they are being harsh to the world even though we live in it.

What am I supposed to do about it? I know they say the world is getting warmer, but ya know, I;d love to see one of these people come to Maine in the middle of winter and talk to me OR anyone else trying to keep warm about Global Warming? Winter is the same as it has always been.
Why is it that you never hear anyone taking aobut it in the winter. Only in the summer when it is SUPPOSED to be hot!

I am not sure that people don't care, but they are misinformed.

Everyday people are told a different "fact" and they just don't understand that this is a very prominent threat.

A lot of people that do realize it as a threat don't think it will affect them in anyway so they just keep driving their SUVs, using non-biodegradable products, and whatever else makes their day to day life more convenient.

People need to realize the threat and understand that it is real before they will ever do anything to try and stop it.

Denial.If people acknowledge global warning, then they must make a decision.Either 1, take action and do something about it or 2, sit back and not do anything and suffer their own conscience. Most people do not like change-they are stuck in a rut.
