Does anyone know where I can find info. for belly dancing for beginners? Something on the web...? If you belly dance- was it hard to learn? Any tips?

I have NO idea why someone would say this is gross -
have you ever seen a professional bellydancer? (OK getting off my soapbox to answer the question)
there are a BUNCH of websites that will lead you to bellydance teachers - if that's what you want
if you want to start at home with a DVD - I like the Dolphina Goddess Workout series, there's are 4 different DVDs and each one of them covers a different "skill"...the first being what the heck is bellydance and how am I supposed to do what she's doing on my TV!!!
GO FOR IT!!!!! It's soooooo much fun!

Belly dancing is sooo much fun, super easy and a great workout. There are many dvds for beginners.

Check your local gym for classes. I know mine offers belly dancing twice a week at different times.

I don't know if you have netflix, but they have over 30 instructional BellyDance DVDs. Good luck, I'm just getting started in the dance as well!

My local Bally's has a bellydancing class that I went to once. It was a lot of fun and not too difficult. Also, try your local community college.

i did already 3 belly dance courses (different levels) in kind of theater/dance society, but it depends where you live I guess .....
