who invented letters and words??

nobody invtented letters and words... they developed from hand gestures and signs throughout time... Languages came from mixes of previous languages before them...

This question is a little more complicated than it seems.... it's hard to say exactly who started writing things down first to denote words, it was most likely either the Sumerians (early cuneiform) or the Egyptians (hieroglyphs), but their writings were not pure "alphabets" because they often used logograms to denote words, not just sounds.

The first pure alphabet probably came from Semites in Egypt... it was the first alphabet we know of that purely used letters as we know them and connected them together to make words.

As for modern languages, many tend to be direct decendents of either the Aramaic script (Eastern scripts) or the Pheonecian script (Greek, which then was borrowed by Latin and Cyrillic).

The aphabet that we currently use has is roots in the roman language, but most of the words are from a collection of all the different languages in our culture. Simple answer from a simple guy!
