In order to write checks, obtain credit/debit cards ect. normally you have to seek another bank in which to hold the money for you. And these banks will initiate you with checks and a card of your choosing. However, say a person had money but doesn't want to place his or her money in another bank but to have his own private bank, and at the same time, his own private checks, depit cards, ect. How does a person do this? To have a bank account only for him or her self?

You could theoretically start your own bank and therefore issue yourself a debit card and personal checks, but all banks are subject to regulatory requirements, oversight, etc., so this would be prohibitively expensive. You can create your own checks, but they have to still be attached to a bank (i.e. you need a routing number and account number), so there's really no skirting using a legitimate bank. If you're concerned with identity issues or some other similar issue, you could get an offshore account in places such as Switzerland or Dutch Antilles.

Buy a safe and order checks off the internet!

I don't know about the debit card, but hows about a credit card?
Why don't yo want to open an account with a bank anyway? Are you a fugitive of the law? haha :)
