I'm actually half way through that book.
Though I really don't know that answer, I'll give you a philosophic interpretation of Ayn's mysterious hero.
John Galt represents the uber mensch (super man, or over man.depending on translation)

What an original question. It hasn't been asked since 1957.
('Twas John GALT, actually, unless you're referring to the totally unknown actor/writer mentioned here http://imdb.com/name/nm1104055/)

Hmm, you wouldn't mean "John Galt", would you, the main character in Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged?"
