First of all want you to understand the rays from the sun: UVA and UVB.... UVA is the one that destroys your elasticin and collagen (the same ones that when we grow older they start the diminish the production) and this is what makes the 90% of aging signs and the tanning slons have these rays. Also the UVB is the ray that burns you and contributes to skin cancer. What you need are products that help you get protected form both rays and always try to avoid the SPF over 30 because these will cause your skin to get irritated. I use these great products that help me get a nice tan and they also have a tan enhancer taht makes your tan last longer....you could find them in this site, at the left margin look for BefoRE Sun and you will find them .... https://secure.myarbonne.com/arbonne/arb... the best part is that they have ingredients for anti aging.... wonderful...and the hair protectn is just divine because it also works like a detangler..... and you could also use the "chap stick" they have to protect and hydrate your lips .......

If you are doing indoor tanning, first make sure your tanner is a full spectrum UVA & UVB. Second when you choose a tanning lotion, choose something with natural bronzers, no DHA or chemical tanners, these streak where as natural bronzers do not. If you are going to be tanning outside I would start with a 0 SPF tanning oil Hawaiian Tropic is good. Make sure you don’t stay out for too long with that on. May be thirty minutes. Then move up to an SPF 4 for another 45 min to an hour. Then try the SPF 8 for the next hour after that. It is always important to watch your skin and not to burn. If you feel you are getting red, move indoors, put on clothes on or something. Try to get out every other day, until you get some color, then 1-2 times per week to maintain it. Same goes for the indoor machines. Also if you can find an indoor tanner that has Hemp seed extract and CQ10, Australian Gold makes some good ones, like Browning Fury and Iced Crème, don’t always go for the most expensive tanner either. Look for the moisturizers, not the actual tanners.

Aww, Summer, don't get caught up in all that tan hype. A deep, dark tan is a sign that your skin has been damaged by the sun, and the damage is cumulative. Take a look at someone that's 50 years old and who worked out in the hot sun all summer long. They have skin like leather, and they look 20 years older than they really are. You might think it looks great for a few months now, but you're trading those few months for years and years of wrinkles and an increased risk of skin cancer. Is that worth it for you?

Besides, some of us think the pale skin is kinda sexy!

I use to work for a tanning salon... This is the best way to get color... It takes time but once you get your skin developed to it; it'll be worth it! First, go to a level 1 bed start off around 5 minutes and move the time more and more for the first two weeks. Second week, try a level 2 bed and start off low on the time with that. After a week of that try to go back to the level one for another few weeks... Last do a few times in a level 3 bed full time! This process helps your melanin develop in your skin and help it become browner in time. Also always always use a lotion esp with aloe vera gel. The reason I say this not only does it help make you browner but it will protect your skin. You wouldnt dar go outside w/out SPF right? Well never go in a tanning bed w/out lotion!

i sit outside in the sun for 30 minutes everyday with baby oil all over me. i had very fair skin until i started doing this. you might burn at first but eventually (a month or so) you'll be nice and brown. also try the jergens or dove tanning lotions.

Try a bronzing bed at a tanning salon and be sure to use one of their booster lotions.
