I mean, I'm not sure I believe that he talks to dead people, but I think HE believes he does.

No, he couldn't believe he's really talking to dead people because surely he knows he's scamming people. He's very good at it, but it's a skill that he has practiced. Did you ever see Penn and Teller's Bull***t! show on Showtime? Their first one was on these "psychics." It's brilliant! Magician James Randi also has a website that exposes these frauds. He offers $1 million to anyone who can demonstrate, under controlled conditions, real psychic abilities. Nobody has yet collected the money, and he has a special invitation open to John Edward, who, for some reason, has not attempted the challenge. (Because he KNOWS he's a fake.)

The politician? Talks to dead people? Gee, could you reference that for us all? I mean I thought you meant that dude from Little House on the Prairie..or one of the other 50 thousand John Edwards, so be more specific

He does not. What he does, the same thing most psychics do, is make generic statements that can apply to most people. John makes these general statements, the family members go off on a tangent and supply him with detail which he uses to make more general statements. Either that or it is scripted beforehand.

Well, I have watched his show and read some of his books, and he THINKS he is serious. Some things he knows I would like to know how he knows them! I'm not past the point of believing that people who have passed on can't communicate with you. Anything is possible I guess!

What I heard is they send 'feelers' out into the audience that look like regular people to strike up conversations and get info out of you. Then 'magically' John knows you're there to find out about Aunt Bertha. It's all crap! He should be fined for false advertising or something.

I believe.....John Edward....is serious....about separating people from their wallets.

Otherwise he's just a snake-oil salesman who exploits others for money.

And Kate, that is one scary photo.

I think he just says things that make people believe he can talk to ghosts. Like "I see someone with brown hair and brown eyes. A woman. She loved cats and knitting. I feel a strong presence over here. *points* She has a message for you."

Like many scam artists, he can "read" people. Miniscule facial expressions can communicate a raft of information.

Also, he has moles in the waiting line and in the audience who talk to people, getting information.

No, he's a cold reading con artist who preys upon innocent people who are looking for hope. He's as bad as any televangelist and just as hokey.
