Pittsburgh is the littlest big city on the planet. It has all of the amenities you can ask for. Great night life (the south side, the strip distrcit) A thriving cultural district (http://www.pgharts.org) Three pro sports teams. And top museums (http://www.carnegiemuseums.org) The city is pretty liberal while the suburbs are bit more conservative...

Compared to baltimore it is much safer and has more of an arts scene. Virginia isnt bad norfolk is a cool city but it's very small but close to the beach...

Pittsburgh is not as liberal as say boston but its definetly not Topeka either.

The weather isn't San Diego. But it's not Buffalo either. It never gets too hot or too cold and there are four dstinct seasons...

The greatest thing about Pgh is the cost of living. No other city can off what pittsburgh can so cheap!

ST LOUIS BABY - When you got it flaunt it , FLAUNT IT!

St Louis is a great city. We have a huge gay culture. We have numerous small cities nestled right beside St Louis, so you can live in a small community but still have any social outings you want to find. We have sports teams (Go Cards, GO RAMS, GO BLUES), theater (The Fox and The Muny), Museums, Wineries, Clubs, tons of great dining. There are even ethnic parts of the city like Germantown, Dogtown (Bosnian) , The Hill (Italians), Soullard (The Mo's), Downtown (Yuppies)...I can go on and on.....

Not Baltimore. Believe me that is a shitbag place too. The Pitts isnt too bad. You might want to try Philly though. New York as well.
I somewhere is Va. Not too much for the gay community here. DC though....I love Du Pont, though it is very expensive, but one day I will live there.

I second Portland, OR- it's awesome! It has good public transportation, the weather is 35-70 degrees fahrenheit, and it has several clubs. The politics are quite liberal too. I'm saving up to move there in the fall.

Atlanta is NOT a "shithole"... just because you choose to visit crappy places doesn't make the city a shithole.

Does it have to be the East Coast? Portland, OR and San Diego, CA are fantastic cities.
