The current theory is a large stellar object like an asteroid or comet chrashed into the Earth off the coast of modern day Mexico (Yucatan) and blocked out the sun with debris causing them to die.

Its simple, a large meteor, roughly the size of texas smashed into the Yucatan peninsula during the Cretaceous. This asteroid was so large that is created so much dust in the atmosphere. This dust created what is known as a nuclear winter. The impact from the meteor sent shock waves all around the planet, it even triggered volcanoes to errupt in India, in what are known as the Decan Traps. The combination of the two would have blocked out the sun for thousands of years, virtually wiping all large living creatures out. The fossil record shows this sudden change. If you look down throught the fossil sediment at this time, there is a sharp junction between when the dinosaurs dissappeared and when mammals began to appear. That proves that there was some major event that took place during that time period, it was know as the K-T extinction. Sediment records from all over the world show evidence of debris from this meteor impact in Mexico ending up thousands of miles away from the impact site. There must have been some sort of bolide impact and the crater found in Mexico's Yucatan Penninsula may hold the answer. This is the most widely accepted method for the extincion of the dinosaurs to date. With them gone the mammals were able to fill in many new ecological niches and a couple hundred million years later poof here we are. No just imagine if that meteor never hit the earth..............what would we look like.................Good Question!
I hpe that helps

The dinosaurs were died in a world wide flood described in the Bible. You can read about it in Genesis chapters 6 through 8. There are many geological evidences found that support this truth that you will only find by searching but they are there. Go to to discover many of these. Evolution is not supported by the fossil record or the Bible.
The Biblical record clearly describes a global Flood during Noah’s day. Additionally, there are hundreds of flood traditions handed down through cultures all over the world. (5) M.E. Clark and Henry Voss have demonstrated the scientific validity of such a Flood providing the sedimentary layering we see on every continent. (6) Secular scholars report very rapid sedimentation and periods of great carbonate deposition in earth’s sedimentary layers. (7) It is now possible to prove the historical reality of the Biblical Flood. (8)
The Bible also talks about dinosaurs for a list of all of these and interpretation of the Hebrew word tannin, and behemoth. Click on the evidence tab at the Creation Evidence web site and/or go to the search and ask your question. The Bible is the Word of God and is to be completely trusted for all of your questions. God has a good plan for you, but you can only discover it by searching it out in His Word. God Bless you as you seek to know the truth.

An asteroid killed some of them, but not all the dinosaurs died out. We still have dinosaurs today, we just call them "birds". It used to be said that the climate changes wiped out all the dinosaurs, but most likely, a good deal of them were actually homeothermic (warm blooded), just as birds are today, and not endothermic (cold blooded) like reptiles.
Smaller animals required less food, and survived better in a time when vegetation was sparse due to lack of sunlight (all energy in the ecosystems of the earth, besides ocean thermal vent ecosystems, comes from plants, as they are the only life forms that can convert solar energy into food energy).
Small mammals and small dinosaurs tended to survive. The larger dinosaurs tended to die off. Carnivores tended to not do as well as omnivores and herbivores.
The mammals evolved into modern may mammals, and the small dinosaurs evolved into birds. Feathers were likely a way to protect against cold, to begin with, and later adapted to flight.

there r various theories, but you should understand that there were different phases of extinction. Evolutionists believe that dinosaurs have not died out, they've just evolved into birds. I don't think there's any real proof of evolution ever taking place in the fossil records, so here is some of the postulates:
1. climate change
2. massive volcanic erruptions
3. asteroid hit the earth
4. large-scale flood of global proportions
5. ice age

You really need to work on your spelling. It's "dinosaurs," not "dinasors."
I'm sorry you had to attend public school.
No one knows what caused the dinosaurs to become extinct but there are many hypotheses. Check Google.

Researchers have discovered several huge craters that were caused by large meteors. Researches have confirmed that these meteors caused the extinction of the dinosaurs due to the climactic changes that evolved.

The most accepted theory it that a large asteriod hit the earth, which caused a series of events, that brought on the downfal of the dinosaurs.

A huge Comet.
When it came to the earth, the sand of the earth went up to the atmosphere and didn't let the sunlight reach the earth. so the temperature lowered and lowered so that nothing could live.So that time the Dinosaurs died...Sorry for them and Good for us!
