Thank you for adding a bit of civility to the fray. I would rather debate the Idea than spew nonsense. I am Conservative and I am delighted that you and I can agree on this.

"Democrats kill babies- therefore I hate them.
If they'd stop, then we could all get along. But until they do, they can bite me"
And Republicans execute the mentally ill. (1)
Killing is killing is killing.
But it's not just about killing the mentally ill-- it's about not properly caring for those babies the Republicans insist on being born in the first place. For example, consistently voting to deny an increase in the minimum wage-- helping to ensure these babies grow up in poverty. (2)
While I respect many aspects of the right to life movement, I also respect the right of a woman or a family to make those decisions for themselves without governmental interference. For those making it a religious issue-- let that woman stand before God when it is her turn to do so. It's hard to fathom why some are so quick to put people to death-- it's as if they don't trust their own God to issue His Judgement when the time is right.
I can also see where people might believe that an increase in minimum wage could cost people their jobs-- but I also recognize that when people have good jobs and make more than just a subsistence wage, they can purchase goods and services which in turn drives the economy.
I try to think outside of the party lines and see all sides of the issue before deciding or casting my vote. But that's what every citizen should do rather than blindly following the "party line."

If you think back....the country was never this divided before the 2000 elections. It was and is the Bush agenda which is responsible for this pitiful divide! His cronies like Karl Rove have put this master plan together to do just this...divide the country! Rove and his rats used groups like the religious right, f the south, "nascar dads" all to their advantage and they do not even know that they were and still are being used!! People do not like to face the fact that elections are being stolen here in America!
If you want an honest America....we need to demand clean elections!! Please do not say it is sour grapes...if you are a true American, whether you are democrat or republican...you should call for clean elections...it is your duty!!

It's called polarization - people are falling for it right & left.
20/20 did an hour on this problem last friday nite, but I'm the
only one on the planet who saw it. Sad.
I'm with you, bickering solves nothing. This country is experiencing a big communication problem at this time & it's
shameful.
So mush progress could be made, if so much time wasn't
wasted bashing each other.

They haven't figured out that both parties answer to the same people in the end, and it's not the good common folk of the USA. They also haven't figured out the Bush is a psychopathic spoiled brat that has a long history of running everything he touches into the ground (while somehow getting rich in the process).

yeah, i'm an independent too. both sides expect you to be a brainwashed follower. if you dont agree with all of their policies in their entirety, you're wrong.
screw that. i've never let anyone make decisions for me since i was 15, and i'm not starting now. i have no problem with someone who can maturely discuss their point of view from either side, but most ppl tend to just shout at each other till they're blue in the face. its really just pathetic.

Republicans remember on god, relatives values, individualism, self reliance, sharing and kindness. Democrats worship vast authorities and doing each and every thing it may by using vast authorities to spoil each and every thing Republicans remember on.

Because it is fun. Some people just like to argue. A lot of the bickering that happens is just to bicker, no other reason.

people want to be a part of a club I guess instead of working together for the greater good. Everyone has their own agenda to push.
