People in NY do drive way too aggressively in the left lane. If I have to pass someone in the middle lane, and I use the left lane, immediately, the person behind me feels the need to ride so close to my rear bumper that we can practically shake hands. Lately, I've been driving a big SUV (sorry environment) and these road rage-rs don't bother me anymore. Still, I stick to the middle lane where I simply let people go around me if the have a problem.

Slower traffic should keep to the right to let faster traffic pass on the left.
