You have your terms mixed up.
A tax return is just that money returned, due to overpayment of taxes.
If you don't want the money back don't file for it, or donate it to charity.

I think what you are saying is that the middle class suffers the most when it comes to paying taxes. This is true. I agree that the system is not fair and that large businesses and upper-class people do get off paying less of a percent in taxes. There are a lot of systems in the US that need to be revamped...but, this is and always has been a hot topic and a messy one. I wish everyone paid a flat (or set percent) tax on all items (this is ideal for large items..car, boat, jet..ect...) so the more you buy -the more money you have -- the more you pay in taxes...
So the lower and middle class people will be able to pay smaller amounts at one time rather than filing taxes and paying a large chunk with each paycheck. This I guess is called a national taxation...right?
Does this make sense?

What does being salaried have to do with crap??
Some salaries are low, some are high. Some hourly wages make more than saleried.
Busines people hardly paty taxes? Are you retarded? Look at the IRS tax stats. the top 1% pays ten times the whole median income range.
Do yourself a favor and seek knowledge before asking what looks to be a futile atempt at a rhetorical question.
LARGER INCOMES DO NOT PAY LESS TAXES, YOU ALL ARE BRAINWASHED, LOOK UP IRS TAX STATS. TAX COMPANIES MORE AND PUT PEOPLE OUT OF WORK.
THINK PEOPLE THINK.

taxes is one source of income for the government. the government build roads, provide and maintain security to the citizenry, provide low cost medical health plans to the seniors and needy, retirement benefits and even to fund war to protect the country. and lots other expenses to run the country well. people should do their part by paying taxes. if businesses evades taxes they will be reprimanded when caught.

The obvious reason to file is your employer may have withheld more than you owe and the only way to get the excess back is to file. Also, like it or not, our taxes pay for government services such as roads, schools and libraries.
