There is no such thing as 'white magic' just as there are no such things as 'black magic' 'pink magic' or 'purple magic with orange polka dots', magic comes down to energy and intent, just as 'good' and 'bad' are relative so is the intent of magic, magic is simply magic.

Witches and Wicca are not the same thing; a witch is someone who practices witchcraft which is largely lower magics and folks magics whom can belong to any religion or no religion at all, where as Wicca is someone who follows BTW [an initiate-only oathbound lineage pagan mystery tradition, which within it's own rights is a priesthood].

I believe in magic as much as I do anything else, I have more of an affinity with higher magic than lower, but don't have the time to practice anymore. I was a Seeker (someone 'seeking' to become Wicca), I trained with a BTW but converted to Neo-wicca two weeks before my initiation, but stayed in touch with my coven for a while to help them teach Wicca [outer-court of course] to others and to this day still get really involved with Wicca.

I can give you specific recommendations for a large number of reliable books and websites on Wicca if you want – just hop on over to my profile and send me a message.

White magic is a modern term made up to try and convince the public and the media that we are not dangerous.

Magic is magic, good or bad. It is how you use it that makes the difference.

Have a look around this site. Lots of infomation.

No. Not real. I'm not a Bible-thumper or anything, but Wicca is just some made up junk that encourages worshiping nature.

Can't believe you've had no other wiccans answer yet!
Since I've been on-line I've been shocked by how big the community is.
Have you tried yahoo groups, I found two in my area. http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/pfwales/ and http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/southwaleswiccanetwork/)
One of my favourite pages is http://www.witchcraft.org/. It's a bit commercial but I love the 'spell of the day'.
Brightest Blessings and Good Luck!

Yes!
Try and get hold of some books by "Titania"
"Enchanted"
"White Magic"
and my favourite "Hocus Pocus"
I really believe I got my daughter by following one of her "spells".
Truly magical.
It's in no way harmful. Read the books and see for yourself.
Especially the recipe to rekindle interest in your partner. Nail filings in his coffee. Seroiusly! Sounds gross, but it sure works.

magic is neither black nor white. it is just plain magic(imagine it like energy). The people who use the craft can use it for evil or noble purposes..

In my opinion, there is no white or black magic. There is only magic. The use of it defines it's morality.
