By worst I mean atrocities committed.

I’m putting A. Hitler as #1.
For #2 and #3 I’m looking at C. Columbus and J. Stalin.

Do you agree/disagree?
Should there be someone else in the top 3 and why?

This is for a research project on History’s Evil Men/Women.

COMMENT TO BIRDDAWG BELOW:
You know why don’t you just answer the question instead of posting an editorial.
Al-Zarqawi as #3??
Come on...is even Al-Qaida's #1 guy?
Such a short term memory.

And where did the “dawg” come from in your name? I gave you the nickname “Bird” and also gave you “The Bird” many times…so why add dawg?

COMMENT TO EVERYONE ELSE:
It looks like people agree that #1 should be Hitler and among the other two Stalin is a good pick.
I’m getting slaughtered for picking Columbus.
But of course, my ranking is not set in stone that’s why I asked the question.
Looks like the consensus is Pol Pot.
I did some reading on him.
What a complete A**Hole!!

Columbus No.2? You're crazy. Columbus was a bit of a zealot and certain committed some atrocities. I don't think we should buy into the humanist-explorer rap that "the man" in the form of his history books want to feed us, but ahead of Pol Pot, Jeffrey Dahmer, Mussolini, Vlad the Impaler, etc.? Shoot, even Genghis Khan was worse than Mr. Columbus.

Unless, of course, you're referring to MRS. DOUBTFIRE director Chris Columbus, then I agree.

Number 2 should probably be Slobadon Milosavic or Pol Pot. Chrisotpher Columbus was looking for a trade route to India; I'm not sure that he intended to create a situation that would lead to the death of millions of Naitve Americans. J. Stalin is a good number three, or to the person who encouraged the colonization of Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania, which led to one of the only successfull genocides in history, of the Tasmanians.

Columbus was searching for a new land, trying to make a name for himself, making a run at serious wealth and wanted to convert the locals to Christianity.

Lots of people had the same ambition at the same time, but Columbus's actions just happened to have disastrous consequences.

I'd suggest taking him off and putting Pol Pot on instead. Stalin probably should stay on there.

What research project? If # of lies were equivalent to # killed, then #2 would be you. A lie wasn't even necessary here.

Hitler I suppose would have to be #1, #2 would have to be Stalin, and #3, I'll say Al Zarqawi.

What do you got against dawg, dawg?

Disagree.

Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein or Slobodan Milosevic should replace Christopher Columbus because of the thousands that they have put to death through genocide. Other than that, Hitler and Stalin are good choices for the list.

I'd say you are right about #1 ... #2 is likely Atilla the Hun, #3 George W. Bush.

He has single handedly done more damage than just about anyone except Hitler.

I would love to see the argument for putting Christopher Columbus, I assume it has to do with the fact he discovered america which caused the death of most of the natives, but he that's not fair as he himself did not do anything to directly cause their death.

One suggestion of a new candidate would be Pol Pot, he did some pretty terrible things.

Check him on on wikipeida http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pol_Pot

Also maybe check people involved in the crusades.
