Too many women today reveal too much and it is just a turn-off to me. It's just not classy. What do you think girls? Guys? Is American fashion due a conservative direction?

For Ernie, I am caucasian with a preference for women that are not suntanned to the point of having endangered themselves. That is all I mean by pale skin.

I didn't think that there were still guys like you around! My friend is trying to start a modest clothing line and she is getting shot down left and right. I wish that there were more people like you.

I guess you'll have to define uber-conservative...hopefully you're talking about tight and low-cut clothing and not a return to Victorian fashion! I agree that there is often too much revealed, too often by those who would be more flattered by covering it. Super-low-rise jeans and belly shirts are in the fashion world passe, but it'll be awhile before Middle America catches on.

I think this is truly something girls learn as they get older and role models shift...leaving something to the imagination is good. Those who think Paris Hilton is cool aren't going to dress like Catherine Zeta-Jones.

In the meantime, guys need to learn that they do have an effect on the way women dress. We want to look good for our boyfriends. If you tell your girlfriend this is what you find most attractive, yet do a double-take at a skimpily clad girl on the street or post a Pamela Anderson bikini poster on your wall, don't expect her to believe it.

Thank goodness there is a man in the world that feels this way. I once knew a foreign exchange student from Switzerland, and he said that he preferred to be the only man who knew what a woman really looked like under her clothes and that American men seemed to think it was better if everyone could look at ALL of their girlfriend. It struck a chord with me, and I've been very careful to be more conservative ever since.

Personally I like having the choice as an American female....I can be both conservative and yet "showing" at the same time or at anytime as I wish.

Honestly, I don't think asking the "guys" what we women should wear is very politically correct (for lack of a better term) of you...It's up to us and not you on what we wear. If men started deciding our clothing trends then you might as well throw us girls back a hundred years and put us in clothing where only our faces show...In fact why don't you put us in veils like the girls from the middle east and take away our rights alltogether?

Think about it...

(P.S. I'm not indicating that people should run around naked or that people should allow their children to dress in such a manner as what I have seen lately. I think parents should take control and teach their children morality and we wouldn't have this problem. I mean, who makes the money you or your kids?! Put a stop to it now by not buying them certain clothes...Simple as that! I'm only refering to an adult woman's clothing decision...It should be our free choice on what we wear and when and it shouldn't be based on what MEN want...IT'S NOT YOUR BODIES!!!)

absolutely....too many women showing WAY too much skin, especially in the workplace and girls at school. I have a 16 yo daughter, who fortunately has NOT embraced the immodest trends, but she's seen as kind of a dork among the kids at school. It's sad that dressing modestly has gotten to where only dorks do it.

They say tanning can become addictive. The ultraviolet lights produce endorphins. People can actually go through withdrawal when they stop tanning. Personally, I do not want to look like a leather couch when I get older. As for the clothing issue, I always opt for classy, not trashy.

You have good taste. Some of the young teens that congregate in malls could be arrested for indecent exposure.

yes. I'm a guy and I agree. Many women nowadays either don't want to be respected, or don't know how to get it

I know I wouldn't want my daughter (if I had one) dressing like young women often do, these days.
