A theory is a systematic hypothesis to explain something based on current accepted knowledge, facts and observation. If I told you I have a theory about something, it can be proven right or wrong later. Even if it is proven right later, it is still called a theory, in this case a proven theory.
However very often in science, a theory may consist of many arguments and parts, so very often we can not say it is 100% right or 100% wrong. If scientists find that certain part of the theory is not accurate, it does not make the theory is wrong, it simply need to be refined further. Even if the theory seems to be flawless, there is no guarantee that it is 100% correct.
Thus similarly, the theory of evolution is a theory in the above sense. By calling it a theory does not means it is not proven nor it means it is 100% flawless.
As a Christian as well as a scientist, I am of the opinion that the theory of evolution means a lot of sense based on all the evidence so far. Many of today's medicine that seeks to fight the various diseases such as AIDS, bird flu etc. can not ignore the fact that evolution is real and a 100% FACTS. However, the explanation that humans are the results of pure evolution without divine intervention are much to be debated. It is important to realize that scientific arguments should not be treated as ultimate Truth, likewise religous arguments should not be treated as scientific facts.
Even if Darwin's theory of evolution can be proven 100% right, it still will not prove that God did not create man and the universe. There is simply no contradiction between evolution and creation!!
However, for those who think that evolution means there is no creation, think again! Evolution definitely does not explain anything on how the universe came into being.

personally i don't agree with charles darwin theory of evolution also all the western science excluding chemistry and some part of physics is basically crap. they fail to have a record of human history beyond a few thousands of years where as the indians have recorded history dating to millions of years back.....(just one instance read abt the adam's bridge and the bridge built by lord rama mentioned in the ramayana...google it) and through that description we might have unevolved down the line rather than evolve...e.g. it's still a mystery how egyptians built those huge pyramids ....are we really evolving ??? i don't think so....and at least not for the better.....technically speaking the human genome is very very different from the monkeys or oorangutan or the chimps containing 36 something where as the chimps have only 34 or so...(dunno the term for it) also there has been absolutely no evolutary change in any animal or the humans in the recorded history....and i guess a thousand years or so....are enough a time to change at least something....inside us....we can sure adapt ourselves..but we don't evolve....though it makes sense a few no. of times...but still charles darwin is not convincing enough.....

Darwin's Theory of Evolution has so many holes in it it's like swiss. His theory on natural selection makes a valid argument. If you really think about it, evolution is a huge joke, most scientists are ashamed of it and will not discuss it because it has so many holes in it. For example, during the formation of the universe, science tells us that in order to form the planets and sun and everything else in our solar system, it would have required a huge amount of gravity, and heat, Millions of pounds of gravitational pull and millions of degrees of heat. At this temperature and pressure, nothing can survive. Newton's Law of Matter basically states that you get nothing, from nothing. You can't get something from nothing. Therefore, it is impossible for life to have started from nothing, unless there was something that created life. And Newton's law is law, not theory like Darwin Theory, which even after so many years, is still theory. One more quick one, the law of entropy- basically objects move from order to disorder in the universe. So, all things move from order to disorder. A flower grows and withers, a person grow older and dies, even objects like computers breakdown, slow and eventually stop working. So how can a sigle cell organism, first survive the heat and pressure of the universe, and two, defy the law of the universe and move from disorder to order? Impossible. These are just 2 things of which there are 10,000 more reasons why evolution is a joke. Frankly, it takes way more effort and faith to believe that evolution is right.

like so many of the other theories out there, it is full of holes. Nobody has the real answer here on earth, so anyone who claims they "know" is an absolute moron. We have beliefs and convictions, thats it. If evolution was how it all got started, who created whatever it was that evolved in the first place. If the "big bang" theory is correct, where did the planest than collided come from? We just dont know, someday hopefull I can say I do know, but it wont be here on earth if it happens.

I believe Charles Darwin was a brilliant man who added to our knowledge of the natural world tremendously. However considering he rejected his own theories before died I do not think much of his theories on evolution.

He had a good idea that fits a lot of data, but is probably not the only process going on out there. Evolution exists, but we don't quite understand everything else that's going on. Even Darwin himself thought that there was more to the generation of species, possibly facilitated evolution(?), than what we could observe.

It's the best explanation that fits all the empirical data so far observed. Plus, it's quite elegant, simple, and makes a good deal of sense, not that any of those qualities are at all relevant to whether a theory is correct or not.

It is solid science formed from observations from nature. It is important to realize that Darwin obseved nature THEN came up with his theory. Unlike the nonscietific beliefs that state their idea then look for evidence.

I personally think that it is all crap. And to all those that say "Darwin's theory can be proven, God's can't." that's bullshit. It might have been proven that it could have happened, but it was never proven that it did happen. And even Darwin himself said that they were just theories, at best.

I absolutely believe it to be a governing factor of the world. We have tons of evidence to support evolution, but none to support religion. The whole thing about taking back his theory is not true--it is only propaganda made by religious people looking to brainwash everyone.
