Justice does give her balance in many cases, and sometimes the justice is imbalanced.

As always, those with wealth and power seem to have unnatural ways to tip her scales toward their advantage.

However, Justice has evolved greatly over the last two millenniums. What were the courts like 2000 years ago? Well, they were tough with and "Eye-4-an-Eye" attitude. This has carried through the 1900's when humanity found new ways to preserve societies and segregate the criminal (or abnormally harmful) types in "Prisons".

Can you imagine in the 1500's when it was common to bring the whole family to the town square to watch someones head cut off. Psycho! Have you ever seen those mid-evil torture tools like the "Iron Maiden"? Scary.

OK, certainly, we have come far in the Justice department, and yes, we can still improve, but I'm thankful.

My mind has never understood why people convicted of the same crimes end up with different sentences. It seems that in this country if you have the money and can hire a high profile attorney, you can almost get away with murder. Also, why is the court system allowed to eliminate certain evidence. All evidence should be included. The best example of that is the OJ Simpson trial. There should be no modified sentences or getting out for good behaviour.

Like other systems we have in this world nothing is perfect.
But I believe we try our best to do the best we can
A lack of lawyers might help ,but then again we don't teach people to be responsible for their actions.

It can be better when we don't have judges that give child rapists probation or a light sentence like 90 days in jail.

I think it is a good idea, but it just doesn't work sometimes. Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas on how to make it better. We depend on people to be honest, and people just aren't sometimes.
