well, i'm the baby of two and i'm a girl, but do you mind if i take a guess???
being the middle brother (or child) might suck because your older sibling sets the standards for what to do and what not to do in the eyes of your parents and your younger sibling does more to get attention. so your kinda left there to do your own thing (but you think that it sucks because they get more attention than you do). tell me if i'm waaaay off here please. i think i might be.

if i were you... i'd take advantage. i'd do my own thing and not worry about if its something that your siblings would do.

good luck.

the same reason being a middle child period sucks. you aren't the old one who gets to do more things, you aren't the young one that gets away with more things. You are virtually overlooked. My brother is a favorite, my sister is a favorite. I wasn't a favorite until I moved out and was able to help my family run errands. I don't know how old you are, but just remember that one day, you won't need to feel unloved in your family because once you are gone, they will drown you in attention.

the mother who commented has a favorite child?? That is terrible and insulting to her other children!! I am a middle child, but there are 3 girls in my house. I feel over looked cause the oldest is most mature and then my younger sister is the "baby" and the smart one who does nothing wrong. While I like to have fun talk and am outgoing. I get in trouble, they don;t

I am a middle brother who is now 43 years old. You are in between the older, more trusted brother and the baby who is the "protected" one. It isn't a big deal, you'll get over it sooner than you think. Especially if the older one is a risk-taker.

Being the middle sibling period sucks because you are almost always ignored. Your parents are either babying your younger sibling or paying attention to your older one because they were your parents' first. Parents don't mean to do it but it happens. That's why it's always easier to have an even number of kids.

my brother (older) and sister (younger) used to gang up on my every day to make me cry. but i turned out okay *sob sob* ha ha jk. i did turn out okay.

it wasn't until just recently I found out middle children are supposed to be good mediators--that is very "me". I'm always trying to keep the peace and keep everyone getting along. it might be naive but I think it is a worthy attribute to have, so if you are the same that is good!

Because, you're not the baby, who gets special attention no matter what, and you're not the oldest, who is special because he/she was first

Because your parents regard you as not having separate/opposed identities from your siblings, who usually are.
