There will never be a US global empire. The people of the United States don't want one, and it is not possible for a country of three hundred million people to physically dominate a world of Six Billion.

The USA will have no such symbol because they have no desire to be an empire. This country has stood by its allies, rebuilt Japan and Germany after WW II, gives generously to aid victims of natural disasters, works continually for peace, and cares deeply for EVERY human being having basic freedom and rights. I know of no other country in the history of the world who has worked harder for peace and human rights. No other country has ever demonstrated such love and caring for humankind. So, take your concept of an emblem and bury it!!

Actually the US has seen the best of it's days.
To get a perspective on it, think of Great Britain at the turn of the last century, a great power no doubt, it's industrial might rivaled by none but preoccupied about capturing glories of yesteryear it failed to prepare for the future and within two decades the US surpassed it making it a second class nation, status it still has.
The US keeps falling behind on every count, the dollar slipping, our level of education dropping, in debt to our ears on and on, while at the same time nations like China pour billions not on warfare on foreign lands but in developing themselves capturing almost a trillion $ in US debt they are moving from having no gold reserves to being the third largest in the world. You can clearly see one nation on the rise one on the decline.

ummm, there won't be one. The US doesn't want a global empire - it's too much trouble to take care of! We just want everyone else to govern themselves without stepping all over their neighbors or decimating populations.
