When you think that your race is better than others, when you blame the entire race for your problems, and don't recognize that everyone has good and bad in their cultures. It's ok to take pride in your culture, race, and background but not at the expense of others.

It's not racist to like your own race more than another race, or feel ur race is superior to another race. It's just feelings of nationalism and patriotism. It is normal especially if you are not from the country that you currently reside in. It is different if you tend to make a person of another race feel negative of their own race or use slurs or hate crimes to show this pride. I know what you feel about having an extreme pride in your culture. My grandmother from my dad's side is an immigrant from Puerto Rico which gives me an extreme pride in being boricua. I am also proud to tell how she made it through the hardships of being an immigrant in the u.s

Too much pride becomes racism when someone believes that their race is better than any other race. It is perfectly fine to have pride in your race and stick up for the oppressed in your race. That is just being proud of who you are but all too often pride in your race becomes hatred and disrespect to all other races. No one is better than another person solely because of the color of their skin. I just wish people would get that.

yes, literally,
or if your white
The pride you are probably talking about is not neccessarily in the race, it has more to do with the culture that that race is associated with. Having pride in my race is kinda like a self-affirmation of acceptance for who I am, how I was raised , and who and what I know.
sometimes... the only thing people know is their own race and find it hard to figure out why other people do what they do.
pride in your race is blatent racism, pride in who you are is different. However, there is a very thin line.

I don't think that it is racist to be proud of your race, but when you use that pride against another race you become racist.
Be proud of who you are and your achievements not just the colour of your skin and you will do fine.

It would appear racist if you're white and you're too outspoken about being proud, because of the way other races have been oppressed. That isn't really something to be proud of. However it's wrong if people of any race put others down.

Is it zenophobic to have pride in your country.
Your race is part of your identity, of course it isn't racist to have pride.
I have pride in my race, of my ancestry and my heritage. That's partly pride in being English , and English is technically a nationality not a race, but the two things are so similar.

Well, I'm mixed and am proud of all my ethnicities.
I feel that pride can cross the line when people get all like "we're the best one" and see others as less and subhuman, then it leads to hate and violence. All negative emotions don't make people happy in the long run, it's better to live a happy loving life. Well, that's just me.

It is one thing to be proud of your heritage and a totally different one to be racist. I think that pride becomes racism when people allow it to interfere with their lives and make decisions based on it.

No. But don't start thinking that your race is better than another. That is when you will begin to become a racist.
