That sure was an across-the-board generalization! What are you talking about? I am a very strong Christian and I know that abortion and gay marriage are hot topics but I don't get angry over them. Do us a favor and don’t be so stereotypical next time.

A true Christian would not be angry, they would be sad.

In both of those issues, the bible is considered the final authority and the messenger of God's will. The bible says that murder is a sin, and that a child is a person at the moment of conception (God knows each child in the mother's womb), thus abortion is murder.

Homosexuality is also considered a sin in the bible, although there are more people in a variety of religious groups that are in disagreement with the impact of this sin.

In all, Christians are often applying their worldview to the issues that are out there, and they believe that it is their duty to call attention to these sins, try and stop them from being committed and to pass laws to stop these sins from being committed.

I think this is somewhat misguided, as Jesus' first and most important rules were to love him, and to love each other. Nothing in there about condemning others... that is God's job.

Blanket statements like this should be thought out before asking. I am an atheist, but I am highly pro-life and get angry about abortion. There are probably a lot of Christians who are pro-choice and could care less. They are both hot topics, very controversial, and anyone with half an opinion would get hypersensitive when discussing them, no matter what religion they are.

I, as a christian, am strongly against abortion. It is what also makes me a republican. I don't think gay marriage is as big a problem. Two people love each other, they get married. Love everyone. Abortion is wrong.

Not all Christians get angry when confronted with these issues. If they do, their issue is probably more political than spiritual. God tells us that acts of anger do not glorify Him. It is not our place as Christians to judge others or to get angry with them.
While I believe that abortion is wrong, I also know that I sin in one way or another everyday and I am in no position to judge the actions, motives, or status of another person. I can discuss this issue with you all day and present my opions and hear yours. I will not raise my voice or let your opinions affect how I view you as a person.

I also support both and am a Christan...and kCalif, that's alot of "the Bible says this, the Bible says that", I think of myself as a true Christian and I don't think anybody should follow the Bible word for word...if we did, the world would not make sense...have you even read it?

ex. It states that women are evil during their time of the month and should be locked away from other people...now, does that make sense or does it sound like superstitious nonsense? I think God wants us to be rationale..period.

Because they are afraid of their desires.

Abortion is not mentioned in the bible. Women's health comes first. If you accidentally kick a pregnant woman in the stomach according to it and her baby dies, you are not to be charged with a crime. Baby's are only given a monetary value after being alive for month. Considering the infant mortality rate society would of had at this time, IT MAKES SENSE. Haaa Haa I made you ...

Truley devout bible thumping Christians, like terrorists, feel that thier viewpoint is the only viewpoint and when someone speaks up or out on a subject these same Bible Thumping Christians vehemently oppose, they feel they must 'rise up' and thwart the arguement with vague biblical references and threats of violence in the name of god.

People are just sensitive about some things.

I know atheists who are pro-life, and homophobic, I know gay Christians and Christians who are pro-choice.

I think many people get angry when people disagree with them. I do. We all probably do.

Because that's the only 2 issues they tend to focus on. They claim it's because the bible addresses these issues but what about the bible saying slavery is good??? adulterers should be put to death?? women are subservient??? Why pick out those two and not follow the others???
