Why do "educated" woman keep having babies?

You would think that an educated person would understand enough of world troubles to realize that we have too many children already. We don't need your kids as well. IF you love kids so much - then ADOPT some. That woudl be true lvoe and genoristy of human spirit. Your gene pool does not need to be involved. Hat eto burst your ego bubble but you are not special that we need more verison of you!

The planet is over populated. We are raping it of it's resources daily. Your kids will live a horrible life full of pollution, cancers and wars. WAKE UP, READ THE PAPER, WATCH THE NEWS and stop having kids. Can't you just be happy getting f*cked and having no kids?

Most of this planet's educated women do not have lots of children. In Africa, the average number of living children from a single female is 9. In small villages, women are pregnant most of their adult lives, but the death rate is quite high in the places far from medical care. But, even in Africa, in the cities, where women work as secretaries, etc., those women are limiting their number of children. It is not the educated women who have children, it is the poor, and impoverished women of third world countries who have the greatest numbers. Interestingly, the U.S. is approx 10% of the world's population, but we use 40% of the world's resources. So an American kid is much more of a drain than is an African kid. Problem is, we save these young kids in Africa by giving them vaccines, only to have them starve later....our foreign policy is just backwards -- we need to shut the water off, not try to keep moping......... But this will never happen in this country -- we have a Christian Taliban that rules, and the liberals can never sponsor any kind of legislation like this -- no now, and probably not ever in America. Further, we fight this Machismo idea among Latinos that their women are worthless unless they can have lots of kids.... and that's a cultural thing more than it is pro-Catholic.... again, dealing with an uneducated population. (Mexican men are big into their penises.....)

So, as you can see, population control is about impossible, and in the next 200 years, this planet will have been tipped over the edge. In 500 years, life as we know it will likely not exist...

If we hope to save this planet, governments need to give incentives to limit thier families -- in China, if you as a couple have that second child, your job level is reduced, your living arrangements are reduced, you get to earn less money...... and it works. In the cities, couples have one child. This as yet isn't too helpful in the countryside. Google some population sites to get the exact figures -- an interesting site www.populationconnection.org, and read an old, but in the end, good book "The Population Bomb" In the final analysis, there are ]just so many calories an acre of land can produce. The book was written in the 60's, and is THE classic. Get it on Amazon.com. And as for your part, produce no children.......

Why don't you do some research on how hard it is to adopt a child. It costs a LOT of money and you have to be approved first. Many hours of training and classes are required. It is not as easy as you say and if it were some nasty child molesters would be able to adopt them. We have children because it is our right and I can not explain the love you have for your child. I can not afford to adopt a child or I would. 3rd world countries can not afford birth control and/or do not know how to use it correctly. Too many teenagers in our country have unprotected sex and get pregnant because they have low self esteem. Take all of that pent up frustration and join a group that educates and helps these women instead of complaining about it.

I am an educated woman. And I have a wonderful 3 year old son and one baby on the way. I would never adopt a child. As an adoptee I know that adopted kids have no rights at all. And why should I adopt when I can have kids of my own.

One of the reasons to make love is to have kids.
If you feel this way adopt your own kids.

what a shame you are....to think that there are people on this planet who are so put off by how other people choose to live their lives....

frankly, this is not a viable solution to an overpopulation problem. therefore, you are simply spouting off at the mouth and not making sense to truly "educated" individuals.

also, the fact that you are trying to determine the life choices of other people makes you no different than a suicide bomber who blows up a bus full of innocent people. they had no choice in dying that day and you are giving no choice to free individuals in your trumped up theory.

essentially, women's ultimate purpose is to bare children. that is a female's most basic function. shame on you for thinking that women as a whole would voluntarily give this up.

perhaps you need to start thinking of ways to cure the world's injustices from a standpoint that benefits the majority instead of punishes them.

People seem to feel the overwhelming need to procreate when they are in love. "Educated" people believe that they should be the ones to have the kids and not the hicks because then the "intelligent" genes will get passed on. I agree with you that the world doesn´t need any more people in it, but try convincing the other 6 billion people on the planet!

In order to keep educated and intelligent people on this earth, one must reproduce to keep their genes "going" and thus essentially make themselves immortal. For if all intelligent people stopped reproducing and only relied on adoption, the world would be FULL OF STUPID, UNEDUCATED PEOPLE and we have enough of those all ready. i completely agree.. i want to have a lot (4-5 which is kind of a lot)of children, but i am planning on adopting some--because there are a lot of children out there without homes... (along with the various reasons you posted)

If someone has 2 kids to replace themselves and their spouse, whats wrong with that? Why does it make someone less educated having a baby? Sounds like you've got a chip on your shoulder..........
