the only reason i would name a boy after his father is if the father is not around anymore (for honorable reasons of course)
lets see....
girl: tenley, riley (or however you spell that), brenna,
personally, i like guy names for girls. ex: charlie, trey, cole, drew, aj, danny ect.
guy names: hunter, christian, jesse, bobby, benny, franky
oh and a personal favorite of mine is shithead. i'm dead serious my mother taught a student with this name. it was pronounce shi-heed though.
good luck!

Naming the son after the father is a twofold answer, how bad is the father's name? If it's cool, I probably would. Also, would he be a junior or the III? Some people like having this heritage passed down. (or like George Foreman, all in the same time, lol)
Names...you may not like them, and some are older and have been used alot, but they're some I ran across recently.
Girls names: Elizabeth, Isabel, Isabella, Madeline, Mackenzie, Kadence, Hailey, Anna, Hannah, Savannah, Brooke, Brailey, Bailey, Faith, Victoria, Abigail, Alexia, Mattie
Boys names: Matthew, Anthony, Andrew, Xavier, Dakota, William, Alexander, Maverick, Mason, Blaine, Avery, Scott, Casin

We named our baby after my father and my husband.
It's always worth going back through the family tree and finding some good names there. There are some really pretty older names - Silvia & Sophia, for example - for girls, as well as classic ones like Abigail that aren't used too much. Boy names, I would name anything except Jacob because there are going to be a million Jacobs in school, it's one of the hot names right now. Hope this helps!

We did not name any of our son's after my husband. That was his choice. My brother was named after our father and was a II (second) not a Jr. He has never minded and went by his middle name rather than his first. The names we used for our children:
Nathan Jacob
Brenden Michael
Preston William
Simon Levi
Maddison Elizabeth

I would use one of the fathers names. There are more than one in the family. Some cute names for a boy, I think are: Dylan Thomas, Raymond James, Chesney, Brion, Bryce, Donovan, Levi,Edward. Some cute names for a girl, I think are: Lena, Mia, Mylan, Abigail, Janene, Felieschia, Nicole, Elizabeth, Lee, Rebecca

I don't like Juniors. I dated a guy who was a "second" but went by his middle name as to avoid confusion with his father.
Perhaps, you could use the father's middle name.
I had 2 girls and didn't get to use the boy name I had picked out. It incorporated both of the baby's grandfathers: Newton Thomas
Newton is my maiden name (hence the maternal grandfather's last name) and Thomas is the paternal grandfather's first name.
My girls are Cerella Edith and Gwendolyn Ann.

as a son names "the 3rd" I'd say NO, NO, NO, never name the baby after the father. Let him make his own name rather than having to live down the (possible) infamy of THAT name.

No, I wouldn't name my son after a his father because we're just gunna end up callling 'Junior', so then what's the point of naming at all?

The other day me and my daughter were talking about this topic. So we started to take names and write them backwards and came up with some pretty cool new ones.
Naming you baby after their father is ok.

Kayleigh is pretty for a girl and I like Tanner for a boy. Naming your son after his father is a long standing tradition.
