As per the news coverage and our current situations with Iraq, we the U.S. have one too many hands on different pie's. In my opinion startling Korea seems to be very bad for the Worlds sake. Detonating a Nuclear weapon is extremely bad on any land, or country; as we have seen with Israel and Iran war can be very unconventional and dirty. Would Korea launch Weapons of Mass Destruction to Japan, or perhaps use that infamous Taepodong 2 to our homeland if we are to provoke Korea to stop its nuclear program or even to stop its missile launching. This may very well begin a new World War, Do we have enough soldiers to even adhere to the situation?

Some information;

North Korea has plutonium and has the ability to produce it. Years ago North Korea has purchased from the Soviet Union, made Nuclear Power plants and had a estimated 33lbs of plutonium by 1992. So they do have the power to make nuclear weapons.

As far as technology. They launched a missle a few years ago and it successfully acquired its mission, and then it was deliberately exploded in the air so the USA and others would not know its secrets.

They do have the ability to make a long range missile, they are a force to be recon'd with, and they have a very unorthodox leader who believes he should do as he pleases and will cause great harm to those who appose him or interfere with them. Just because there was a glitch with thier latest launch doesnt mean anything. We've had our own hiccups with the experts at NASA with foam.

North Korea would never start a war against the USA. What they are doing at the moment is to warn the Bush administration that any US attack on North Korea would be answered by complete defence, including missile strikes on the USA and their allies (like South Korea and Japan).
That's their good right, and given the violent track record of the USA they have more than enough reason to do so.

North Korea is not a threat right now. They do not have the means to even hit land beside their own at this point. They have been threatening to do so since the Korean war. they want attentionand we are giving it to them. The media is being paid off by the Government to make it a big deal so the American people will forget about the fact that Bush has done a horrible job and should be impeached. Clinton was for much lesser atrocities. "Fear is your only god" Americans. Everyone from the N. Koreans to the terrorists know it. We are playing right into their hands by worrying about them. By allowing our Civil Liberties to be taken away by our own government out of fear is exactly what they wanted all along. They don't have the freedoms we do, why would they want us to.

If they were truly a threat, the Chinese would squish them like a bug. North Korea is not going to do anything unless China agrees to it, and the Chinese need the American market now that they are trying to become a world economic power.

Further, if they were to launch a nuke successfully, they would glow in the dark for a hundred years or so, and the missile would never reach the US coast before being destroyed.

Do yourself a favor and stop listening to the babbling idiots on the nightly news. 90% of what they tell you with regards to National Security is total bullsh!+, the other 10% they get less than half of it anywhere close to being correct.

Most of that news is generated to scare the American people into agreeing with war. Nuclear war can't be controlled anyway, we're all going to be screwed if anyone starts it. So, no, I don't think we have enough soldiers to deal with the situation, and we never could.

The US has done more to encourage a nuclear war than any country so far, these countries are creating weapons to PROTECT themselves from the US, which they fear immensely. If you have a nation that has anything America wants, you would be very afraid after what has happened to Afghanistan and Iraq. The Iranians, for example, are scared sh*tless right now, of the US. We really don't need to fear them, we could just be a bit nicer and then we wouldn't have to defend ourselves. Think about it, why would some one want to kill you if you're American? Why?

Right now, they can't get the missle over the Sea of Japan. A nuclear warhead could just as easily detonate on a North Korean launchpad as it could anywhere. There's liitle chance anyone will go to war to defend the NK's. It is also unlikely that their missle program will get serious in the near future.

Again, North Korea is simply posturing for an opportunity to negotiate from the US, whatever aid they can get. They are not so foolish as to attempt to harm anyone, certainly not now. That's not to say they do not have hungry eyes for South Korea. Afterall, South Korea is relatively sucessful and the North, well they could do better.

All we have to do as a U.S. citizen is to ignore this stupid North Korean President. He was brutal and unpredictable and deserves to be ignored by all. This guy desires for attention and nothing more. I think it is a better idea to let the United Nations do something for this country. And we have to pray God that there is no such thing as nuclear war. Because you know what? We don't have enough soldiers to combat this people. We sent them all to Iraq. hahahah. I am willing to join though, as a woman, to fight for our country if the need arises.

This situation should have been nipped in the bud a few years ago. It scares the hell out of me. They are another Japan in the making, and how ironic that Japan is now the ones worried. I can completely understand how they would want this taken care of. I do not want to see anyone in this world die from such a disaster.

they have the missles for long range. it was reported that six were fired, but bush slipped up today during a conferance in chicago telling everyone it was seven. they already stated they will continue to test and if anyone tries to stop them, they will fight. the missles landed in the sea of japan as it was the nearest water for them to dump them. many countries are looking, watching and monitoring their activities.
