Who do you think will win the AFC West and possibly wild card?

I'm running my own broke crappy version of Sports Center. Group consensus team will move on and eventually we'll do playoffs and superbowl. Ten points gets awarded to the person who best makes their case for the team they picked.

if you want to weigh in on the afc east:

well this is going to b very difficult because all 4 teams in the afc west have pros and cons. Well I think the winner of the divistion will be the Broncos and here is why. They can produce running backs like no other team in the league. They have a decent qb who can pull it off if they need to. and recivers who can catch the ball. On the defensive side of the ball. they are improving. with champ baily and john lynch in the secondary long pass plays are few and far between. the linebackes r quick and agrressive and can drop into coiverage if needed. on the frontline. courtney brown and the rest of the ex-cleveland brown line men will tear it up down there. though the loss of trevor pryce will hurt i think they will still do ok. for second place i am going to go with the chargers. They are a good defensive team as always with a marty shotenhiemer coached team and on offensive with LT u have to give them the benefit of the doubt. i am not to sure about phillip rivers but they should still be ok. Next i will go with the cheifs. Yes they have larry johnson but who else do they have? nobody. i didn't know trent green could throw a football in a wheel chair he is so old. they don't have any defense and no recievers. we saw herm edwards drive the jets in the ground and he will do the same to the chiefs. the radiers will come in last as usual. they really haven't improved that much on either side of the ball. aaron brooks is over rated and Huff has never played in an Nfl game in his life. in terms of the wild card out of this divition i will have to go with the chargers.

Anyone who doesn't think the Chiefs will is a fool. Both the Raiders and Chargers have different QBs, 1 cant throw and the other isn't ready, and the Broncos have no RB, their not even sure about Plummer. Probably he makes to many mistakes. The Chiefs have the most high scoring offense in the NFL, they no have a defensive minded coach. Plus they will have Ty Law signed by the end of the month. Next question.

i think the broncos will win the afc west they r becoming a team in a way mike shanahan won his first playoff game since he had john elway so they ended last year on a good note so they should start on a good note this year their projected record by NFL analists is 11-5 which is great although they did lose rb mike anderson DE marco coleman DL monsanto pope they also gained a few vetrans including javon walker and amon gordonalthough they have an amazing run defense they ranked 2nd last year their passing defense still needs some help they brought in some DL from the browns so the should be pretty good this year but the chargers could *** up and take the title with a projected 10-6 record they may be hard 2 beat

The San Diego CHargers.

They have the best TE and RB in the league. With the leagues #1 rushing defense. Don't forget added pressure from all pro Shawne Merriman and company.

The Raiders don't have the players to win this tough division, their quarterback is New Orlean's sloppy seconds.

The Chiefs have no proven defense and they tackle like popwarner cheerleaders.

Broncos are tough but Jake Plummer will look in the rearview mirror of his Honda ELement and decide "I'm Jake Plummer I usually throw 20+ interceptions a year," The Broncs also lost their star tailback.

The Chargers have an inexperienced QB but he will make it in the nfl.

The Denver Broncos will win the AFC West. They are solid at every position and have a lot of depth as well. Kansas City will rebuild as Herm Edwards will implement his style of football so they may struggle this year, but they will be amazing next year. San Diego still doesn't have much beyond LaDanian. They have put their hope on Rivers and he doesn't have any experience. They will struggle all year long. Oakland will hover around .500 all year long. Aaron Brooks will fumble the ball at least twice every game costing the team to lose games.

This is by far the toughset division to predict....There is no clear cut favorite. The Chargers are letting it ride with Phillip Rivers, The Raiders think Aaron Brooks is the answer,The Broncos are getting older, and the Chiefs are going to have a runningback controversy. I could see the winner of this only being 8-8..

The chargers
They have the best RB in their division
they have a coach that has a lot of experience in the NFL
They have a good receiving pair with mcardell and gates to get the pressure off of newby QB Phillip Rivers
and a defense not t be messed with

the chargers will win the afc west. with the #1 run defense continually getting better along with the addition of antonio cromartie and marlon mcree, the pass defense will greatly improve. shawne merrimen will prove to be one of the most explosive linebackers out there.

as for the offense, phillip rivers has fulfilled the traditional belief that a qb will fully develop after 2/3 years on the bench. plus with tomlinson, neal, gates, and mccardell for offensive weapons, he shouldnt have to carry the entire team. im looking at vincent jackson to have a breakout year and with rookie marcus mcneil at left tackle (backing roman oben), rivers should have the protection he needs.

The Raiders are gunna win it this year. for 3 reasons.

1.The cheifs arent gunna be the same with edwards making the calls. he is conservative and wont be as aggresive as al saunders was.at least on offense

2.the chargers are starting phillip rivers who hasnt proven himself at all. and he will blow alot of games this year bc of it.

3.the broncos are having way too many distractions this offseason. with their punter maybe getting suspended the first 4 games and jake plummer with his road rage incident, and ashlei lelie not showing up for mini camp.

so that leaves us with the raiders who have done nothing but get better in the offseason. moss will be healthy. so will sapp. and they are going to have a much better defense with Huff in their secondary.and Brooks can buy time and will throw to moss deep unlike kerry collins who was a statue and never gave moss time to get open deep.
