No, absolutely not. In *any* group of people, there are always some people who fit some type of stereotype. This doesn't mean the stereotype fits the entire group though.
My father is a retired career Marine after nearly 25 years serving his country. While he was in the Corps, he worked his way through university and received his PhD in Physics, with an emphasis on aerodynamics.
The majority of his friends from the Corps that I have met are also intelligent, honorable, hard-working individuals. Only once have I ever had the experience of meeting a Marine who didn't live up to that standard - and my father dressed him down publicly for his poor behavior and it was immediately corrected.

My brother's a Marine...and an attorney...and a conservative...so I guess he's not an idiot. Although I'm sure some Marines are idiots (shame on them!).

What you need to do is walk up to a US Marine and ask them yourself.Personally I think the men and women serving our country are heroes.

Marines are definitely not morons. I have friends that having engineering degrees and are marines and believe me I can tell you this they are as smart as they come. Plus I know they can kick you @ss.
