NL East: they play each other so someone besides the Mets will end up with a winning record. Braves are not done and they are not trading Smoltz.

Nationals (fire sale after the break?)
Phillies (Myers incident has long lasting effect)
Marlins (Love the young talent, might be best team in NL if they would have kept their core. Best scouts in baseball by far.)

NL Central: At the beginning of the season this looked like a tuff division; now it looks like the worst in baseball.

Pirates (Yuck)
Cubs (Can't win when 25% of payroll is locked up with 2 injury prone players).
Reds (Unless they pick up some major pitchers they will fizzle out).

NL West: This might be the closest race in a division between all teams since the league was broken into 3 divisions.

Diamondbacks (Can you name another starter besides Webb who you would want on your team)?

AL East: If AJ stays healthy for Jays, Red Sox and Yankees better watch out. This could get really interesting depending on player moves before and after trade deadline.

Devil Rays (It's a shame with this team. They have such good young talent that is starting to gell and after August you probably wont see Lugo or Huff in a D-Rays uniform).

Orioles (Seems like this team is always in the same mode: great hitting, no pitching. Tejada is out of Baltimore, only question is, is it this year or next)?

AL Central: Poor poor Twins. Top 2 pitchers in baseball, a young offense that is starting to turn it on and your not going to make the playoffs. I will say this, if the Tigers start to play like the Tigers of old and the Twins can somehow sneak into the playoffs I will take the Twins to win the World Series. Santana and Liriano you might have to see 4 times in a series, I like my chances with these guys.

Royals (You just have to start thinking when is this team either going to fold or turn a new leaf).

Indians (If the Indians keep most of their players I think they would finish above .500, but I believe you will see a lot of young talent come up through the minors in the next few months).

AL West: What an interesting division. Division reminds me of Mark Redman. Redman made all-star team but is not going to play. One of these teams are going to make the playoffs but are not going to play (well) and will be out against their first opponents.

Angels: (Vlad looks like he is falling off average wise. Will Weaver keep it up? In the end they don't have quality starters to hang in this).

Mariners: (They have been shutout more than any team in baseball and their starts are sub par; not a good formula).

Texas: (What is going on with Tex? Starters are very suspect. Offense can be explosive but I don't see them above .500....A's pitching is the deciding factor).

Baltimore, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Washington, Florida, Cubs, and Pittsburgh won't go back above .500 this season. There will be other teams that may end up the season under .500, but will probably get over it sometime this season, like Cleveland, Arizona, and the Angels.
