I agree. Surely, we can disagree with each other while being civil. Unfortunately, there are people out there who just want to create chaos and spew venom on both sides. This is why I stopped visiting about.com.
I was hoping this would be a place to ask serious questions about policy and government matters and get serious responses.

because republicans say things like "these people have no morals" then award billions of dollars of contracts to companies that their family owns hundreds of millions of dollars of stock in.
Because they say "we know he has weapons of mass destruction" and when they are not found they say "I never said that"
Because they say he is an evil tyrant and a dictator and is a threat to the US, when in fact he had hired dozens of look-alikes to thwart any assasination attempts and he was basically scared to death since 1991 of us. And N Korea IS a threat to the US with Nuclear Weapons, and he is stalling on them. N. Korea said if they are imposed with sanctions it will be considered an act of war, and they will strike the US, and Bush has backed off them.
Plus, to be honest, I don't like the way republicans will lie and change the subject when they are caught in a contradiction, or repeat themselves over and over until you give up. No matter how many times you state something it does not change it.
I wouldn't mind talking to republicans if they could talk back wiothout being rude, shouting and acting like children.

Its both sides actually.
I've found that this site doesn't exactly have the most intelligent and civil participants.
BTW, you would be considered a hippy wannabe, tree-hugging libtard if your question had said that you've seen a lot of hate towards democrats.

I agree with you to a point. We should be allowed to have our opinons without fear of reprisal from other people, yet the hate that has been directed at the republican party is born out of frustration and anger at the way the republican is ******* with the United States.

Non Republicans rely on emotion and not fact. When challenged they scream because they can't carry on a conversation using reasoning.
