They say the heart of rock and roll is still beating...
and from what I've seen, I believe em...
The old boy may be barely breathing...
but the heart of rock and roll is, in fact, still beating...

He (and the News) were BIG. Why did we listen to them? Because their music was all over the radio! It was good music to dance to and it made you feel happy! I remember I had a dual cassette player (it was 1983-4) and in one side I had Huey and the other The Cars (Heartbeat City). I would listen to one, then the other, then the other... It was kinda like my iPod... but... not.
I was thinking... it was good... and.... it was.

Because the movie Back to the Future made his music seem cool

I know, right? It was the eighties, he had the right hair (big), the cool clothes (tacky), and that awesome butt-chin. Plus all his songs had that same 'catchy' (synthesized) beat.

But I totally agree with you.... now I can't stand to hear one note of his music or look at that cheesy dude.

Same goes for Billy Joel.

Because his music was fun and pretty good for the time...

Music changes constantly and you should point your critical finger at today's crap!
