No, unless there's a species of ant that is protected under the Endangered Species Act (but I don't think any are). If it were illegal to harm or kill ants, companies like Orkin and Terminix would go out of business.

If it is illegal to hurt ants a lot of homeowners would be in serious legal trouble now. It is not illegal to rid your house of ants.

It's no more illegal to hurt ants than it is to kill animals for food.
Unless they are a protected species there should be no problem.

No. Ants have a nervous system, but not one developed enough to detect/sense/respond to painful stimuli.
