I tend to think most people are born "evil" (i.e. they do what the must to survive, regardless of others) and society teaches us to be good. Many people would disagree with this. What do you think?

Evil is an act of over self importance. I am better than all those around me so I can do what I want to them. A part of this is based on our natural tendencies for survival. We are born with a knowledge of self, but we are also born with a need for others(or society). It would seem that an evil person has lost this need for others. Was it taught or were they born without the trait? Probably both or either.

Ooh, complicated! (no duh!!) I think since most acts are personal, those acts are based on personal need. And, if those acts aren't simply stealing to eat, et al, if they are violent, they might be based on a need to seem part of a group--a natural instinct for humans. But, if the group--society--promotes bad things, and you must do them to be accepted......well, you see the problem.
