Love can mean many things. The love of a mother for her child. The love of a friend.
The love of a partner. I assume that is what you are asking about.
To me, that kind of love, is all encompassing, consuming. A love that makes you feel comfortable being with him/her. A love that is totally trusting. And this kind of love only grows more and stronger as the years pass. It should not fade or die off, as is often the case. This kind of love endures through everything. The only kind of love I can accept when I am talking about a mate. No halves here. It is also very rare.
This kind of love makes me feel cherised and protected.

A series Commitment to someone. Its definately not only an emotion....it is showing someone you care by sticking around when you could easily leave. It is doing things that are in their best interest, even if you don't get anything out of it.
