He's been fighting his good looks for years - because he could easily just be a pretty face leading man - but he's got a creative streak a mile wide that drives him to take challenging/intersting roles. I'd say he's a great actor - look at what he's pulled off: Ed Wood, Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas, What's Eating Gilbert Grape... Pirates of The Caribbean. That's a range!

he is a great actor i just found out an hour ago that he stared in a movie acting like a lady! he does so many roles. but i heard that he didnt really want to act he just wanted to be in a rock band. johnny depp is such a bad boy he is a hottie but i agree with the first girl sometimes he can be strange lol. he said he didnt like the fact that he was being put in little girls lunchboxes have you guys ever seen one of those?

i just love johnny depp is has come along way from the lil kid in nightmare on elm street he has homed his skills as an actor and he always seems to pick the right roles my favorite of his is cry baby i just loved that movie keep up the good work sexy johnny ill be watching you

Sure. He's got that quality where he doesn't seem like he's acting, and really gets inside a character. I just read an interview with him, and apparently, he moved to LA to be a rock musician -- he just sorta fell into it, and never actually intended to be an actor!
